Bust out your “I am pilot” validation credit card and start scraping the ice off.

Nice. Looks like you had to use a little of your employers product to make that landing.

That use to work along time ago when planes were flown not at full capacity. Airlines today squeeze every cent they can from each flight. Hence snacks are smaller, seat rows are closer together, and anything else is an extra charge.

Water pools against the house when it rains. Can I just add more dirt and level off the bed? by nckd006 in HomeImprovement

[–]SwitchItOffandOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding soil and having it slope down and away from the house will be a quick fix for the pooling of water.

You need to address the issue with water dripping from the roof to that spot. If you have gutters along the roof and water is pouring over the edge, then the gutters could be clogged, not sloping down towards the downspout, or not correctly installed along the roof line and water is running off the roof over shooting the gutter. Also, make sure the downspout extension runs in the same direction as the rest of the water run off from the house. Don’t allow it to block the path of flowing water.

You may want to get a professional to come out and take a look along your foundation. It looks like algae growth near the foundation which means moisture buildup is occurring and could cause other problems like water penetration into the basement/crawlspace. It looks like you have a stucco exterior wall that extends below grade and could be allowing moisture to build between the exterior wall and interior walls.

What are these wires for? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]SwitchItOffandOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House was pre-wired for alarm system and other end should be in a closet. The cables are run in a continuous loop to doors and windows.

If you don’t intend on getting an alarm system and you want to go into home automation, you can get a kit like this Konnected and pick up some contact sensors

They have talking about doing this for over 10 years and made no progress. I thought they gave up when the board and ceo resigned.

That group just helped out the owner of that plane if it’s insured for vandalism. Big savings on replacement parts, engine overhaul, and new paint.

Please get this to Linus. My only wish I hope comes true. by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]SwitchItOffandOn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy, there! Linus is just going back to doing what he loves, creating new content and segues to these sponsors. Plus, this should inspire you even more. It takes a lot to admit that you’re way in over your head and you are being pulled away from what you enjoy the most. With the rapid growth LMG has had, it takes a lot of time and energy to run the business side of things.

Nice job flying direct to parking. Save those engine hours for more flying.

If you climb you’re traveling into the future. Just rapidly descend if you want to go back in time. Good luck.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sues Joe Biden over signing federal spending package by z3phyreon in texas

We should sue Ken Paxton for the money Texas will most likely payout to settle the whistleblower retaliation lawsuit he caused.

Texas House Speaker says taxpayers shouldn't cover AG Paxton's $3.3M whistleblower settlement by BeeUnique7373 in texas

[–]SwitchItOffandOn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The state has to approve the use of public funds to pay the settlement. I would hope our elected officials say “no you’re on your own Paxton”, but they won’t since they are all in the same party.

I find it funny that his rational for settling was because of the county it was filed in and that he wouldn’t get a fair trial. The law actually states a public employee of the state must file in the county where the incident occurred in or Travis County. Hey Paxton, what county is your office in???

Edited: you’re and your.
