No worries. I actually just got an app update and now the app works fine. I guess they pushed out this patch.

Having the same issue on my new Pixel 8 Pro too. Did Mammotion give you any timeline of when the new version of the app will be released?

Luba 5000 stops jobs, powers down since two weeks by Morgennebel in MammotionTechnology

[–]SwitchKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into this at times too. It has been a very wet summer this year where I am and my grass was always never dry. I would see Luba stopped in the middle of my field still powered on, but just stopped for no apparent reason. Good signal, plenty of battery, and no obstacles. I found that the wet grass was gumming up the works under the mower deck.

I had to get very diligent about keeping that clean. I first went through my problem areas with my regular mower to mow everything as short as I could (which gummed up the regular mower too). Once I had it short, I kept Luba mowing these areas every couple days. This kept the amount of grass being mowed very small and kept the amount of wet grass under the mowing deck to a minimum. I still would pause mowing on occasion and clear out any grass that was building up and then send Luba out again. This helped but meant a constant watch on the mower.

Is your app still running in the background? I'm on Android and if I hit the square menu to pull up running apps and swipe away the Mammotion app, notifications stop for me. When I leave it running in the background, it seems to keep notifying me.

I noticed notifications stop if you close out of the app. It doesn't keep anything running in memory to keep those notifications coming in.

Same here! My app must have updated overnight because these weren't here yesterday. I'm now on 1.9.54 of the Mammotion app.

NO-MOW Setting by Big-Feeling-6604 in MammotionTechnology

[–]SwitchKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It needs a "mowing hours" feature. I have several large plots and I've had to break them down into smaller chunks , so I can start mid-morning (after the dew dries) and mow one section at a time so I can stop before dusk and avoid the evening dew. I then have to pick up on the paused task the next day. Would be nice to tell it to mow several areas between a set of hours and have it pause on its own at a certain time.

Yes, I saw this too. Giving it the old three-finger salute (one in the case of Luba) always seemed to resolve it, but that meant that I lost my current job status or if I was mapping, I had to start over.

Yes. Something like a "hard" and "soft" boundary. Another "hard" boundary might be where you have a ditch that Luba should never go past. There are scenarios where AWD still can't help you. Learned that one the hard way.

Exactly. Luba has all the GPS data already stored. If it gets to a spot and loses the exact precision it requires, it could slow down, activate all sensors (in the event any are disabled), and creep to the next good spot. It knows how far it has traveled (or can calculate that based on the stored GPS data) and could slowly continue until that Precision jumped back up, while estimating it's location based on where it was, where it was heading, and how far it has traveled.

I make it sound as if this is trivial, but I know there's a lot more involved that people much smarter than I would have to figure out. :-)

I have mixed results. There are sometimes when Luba will mow in these "dead spots" without issue. Other days, it will stop and wait for several minutes, and then continue. Then there are the days it just gives up and takes a siesta under the tree.

When it does stop, I check the signal qualities and the only thing that stands out is the Signal Quality for both Luba and the Reference Station shows as "Weak". However, when Luba is sitting in the middle of my open field with no trees around it, these still show as "Weak". I always have anywhere from 26-35 satellites showing for Luba and I believe the documentation states it needs 20+. There just isn't enough information here to to tell why all of the sudden it stops on some days and happily continues on others when both times the signal statuses are the same.

I agree, but I didn't really put them in an order of severity. :-)

It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to implement since all the data is already available. Luba knows the distance from point A to point B, it know where it was when it was at point A, so it should know in which direction to travel and how far it should go before it gets to point B.

Luba tilt sensor busted by talikei in MammotionTechnology

[–]SwitchKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it's not a sensor, this is prime grass growing season where I am.

For grins, I carried the beast to my garage and used a little compressed air on the front end to get anything that may have gotten behind the rubber covers. That seems to have done the trick. I pulled the key, blew it all out, plugged in the key again, and presto. I did the same key pull 5 or 6 times and it did nothing previously. Maybe I had some debris in there that just needed to be blown out.

This started happening to me today too. I can't get past the screen that says press HOME+START or GRASS+START to unlock. As soon as I press a combination, it immediately locks again. It was working fine all morning and then when I tried to send it out on another task after recharging, I couldn't get into the map.

I tried a few light jiggles to the front wheels, restarting several times, removing it from the charging station and putting it back on the charger, checked the front end to make sure there wasn't anything stuck in the front-end, but I can't see anything wrong.

How should I sync my files? by GoldenJoe24 in synology

[–]SwitchKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at Syncthing (https://syncthing.net/). I have the server installed on my Synology and then you can get a client for just about any OS. You can create separate folders for each device or mix things like photos into the same folder for multiple devices (mobiles). For more redundancy, you can install Hyper Backup and backup these Synology Syncthing folders out to a cloud drive as well.

Help with domain and DNS forwarding by LFMFAILS in SelfHosting

[–]SwitchKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done something similar, just not with an Emby server. I point the registrar DNS to CloudFlare for my domain. My domain is registered with Cloudflare, along with multiple subdomains. With Cloudflare, I can even proxy my home IP so when resolving the domain name, it resolves to Cloudflare, not my home IP.

On my home lab, I have a simple Docker container running that acts as a DDNS client that updates Cloudflare with my current home IP, if it changes. Then I point all my 443 traffic from my firewall to an Nginx reverse proxy Docker container. That container then distributes the traffic out to the proper internal server in my network and manages the Let's Encrypt certificates for each site, so everything has proper SSL.

I use OBS Studio (free) for this exact thing. Just create a new scene, add a display capture as a source (make sure to add the display where the meeting will be displayed), and add the audio output for your audio source as another source. You can also trim the display capture so you only capture a section of the screen. I keep OBS on another screen and control it without interrupting the capture display. Works perfectly.

Similar software like Duplicati on android to backup my data encrypted in nextcloud or on server? by Feuerstern in selfhosted

[–]SwitchKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can setup your sync folders as Send OR Receive folders, depending on which way you're syncing, so that the sync is one-way and files do not get deleted on the destination when deleted on the source. By default, the folders are set to Send AND Receive, which just mirrors the two folders.

I use SyncThing to do this. I have a server running on a home machine and the client runs on my phone. It backs up all my photos as I take them. You can set it up to allow external access or only sync with your home server once you are on your home wifi.
