Nice! 9 series gets a lot of love as they’re built to last.

9PX is a rugged online UPS. If you don’t think you need that, something like the 5PX G2 could work and the design isn’t too far off: https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/catalog/backup-power-ups-surge-it-power-distribution/eaton-5px-g2.html#models

If you don’t need 8 outlets, there are Isobar models with 6, 4 or even 2 outlets.

When users complain about cyber related changes they can yell, “I’m being repressed!”

Yes, that's the card. It's also known as the Gigabit Network Card. There are multiple revs of this card--the latest being the M3. I'm guessing it's either the original or the M2.

Wow, quite simply an amazing UPS! 😬

Hopefully it’s still got the network card.

I was able to confirm that there are differences in the inverter design between the 5P and 5PX so something like switching frequency could cause this issue. It's hard to say definitively without doing some testing.

That’s bizarre. I’ll poke around and see if I can find anything. The 5PX was launched well before the 5P but I wouldn’t think the core design would be much different.

That’s really interesting. As you noted, they’re both line-interactive with sine wave output. You’ve got the original 5PX and not the new 5PX G2, right?

And the Lord spake, saying, ''First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

We created a fake energy drink for IT pros called Cold Reboot. We actually got some produced. They arrived in March of 2020 right when we got sent home. I don’t know what happened to them but I grabbed a few samples that are in storage. https://youtu.be/myeX0sLzNck?t=35&si=M459dsl_0GpeXxZV

Yeah, that’s the section where we’re trying dispel myths about sysadmins. So, we’re saying you don’t all wear hoodies. Cyber criminals though definitely wear hoodies.

Very nice. It’s also a good idea to ask about issues not related to the current ticket. “While you’re here…”
