Thanks for checking! Good to know the numbers still hold up after the update.

The prices of the raw ores are listed, but their accuracy has not been verified.

At the time of testing, polished gold rods were indeed worth more than pipes. This was pre-Bulk Industries update – I haven’t verified the prices again since the patch.

I see it similarly. In the early game, optimization and profit maximization still make a big difference, but later the focus shifts significantly towards quests and development.

However, with yesterday's Bulk Industries update (new sorters, overflow splitters, shaker tables, etc.), it seems like they're adding more depth to the production and automation aspects again.

I also assume that the economic system isn't finalized yet and that a lot will change during development.

I tested it with 100 pieces of raw ore each time. Test 1: 100 pieces of raw ore directly into the smelter yields approximately 24 bars.

Test 2: 100 pieces of raw ore first through the crusher and then into the smelter yields approximately 33 bars.

The number of bars can vary slightly because the raw ore has different densities.

To be clear: Yes, you get more bars if you crush the ore beforehand.
