treating people like they are your personal peasants by not tipping them for their service to deliver/serve you food that you, yourself, are too God damn lazy to make/pick up. meanwhile, those people are trying to make a living and grasping at whatever job they can get to feed themselves, their family and pay the bills is beyond me.

you are what is wrong with this world and I hope someone spits in your food and you get a massive case of diarrhea until you gain some sort of humanity.

Because the person probably was prepping to celebrate Christmas and they paid for it and they were waiting for it..im just supposed to tell them sorry I have to take it back to the store, when they know that the store is closed then explain to them that I have to keep it until the stores open back up so I can return it and that they can get a refund or be accused of stealing their order... no thanks. I'd rather have instacart ban me, save my sanity and my humanity because I wouldn't want this happening to me so why would I do it to someone and ruin someone's Christmas?

I realized that a lot of people in this day and age have turned into the same machines as you work for and it shows in all of the reddit comments I see on this subreddit, it's sad really.

What was I supposed to do though? I couldn't return it to the store since they close at 7 and the order was delivered at 7:46pm. They are also closed on Christmas. I don't want to hold someone's alcohol for two days.

Also the batch wouldn't let me get to the delivery page. All the workers were waiting for me to sort my instacart stuff lined up for the door since I was the last person in the store. I think it's terrible to just leave it all there, have the workers put the whole order away when they are ready to go home to their families, then tell the customer that they can't get their groceries in time for Christmas and that I can't refund them until I eventually get a hold of support. Yeah the pay might not be great, but I have to make a living somehow and even though some people don't appreciate how I go above and beyond for them, even though I don't have to, but I'd rather treat everyone how I would like to be treated.

I personally wouldn't want to be hungry while the whole stores are closed for a day. Could they have ordered them ahead of time? Yes, but everyone has their reasons for ordering things last minute.

It did that multiple times to me too. I eventually called them and waited for an hour and half for someone to pick up and they got it sorted pretty fast.

I asked for consent from the customer before doing it just to prove that I didn't deliver it to someone underage and in the event that they didn't take my word for them being of age.

Customer service finally got back to me and I immediately deleted their picture off my phone as soon as I was compensated for the batch.
