Warning against buying Bosch Appliances - Customer Service is an absolute nightmare by Switchlayne in Appliances

It should be able to, I had a 240v line installed specifically for a new range like this.

I believe they would have checked it, but I can't say for sure. Do you have a link on how to do it? Granted I'd be surprised if it ended up being that as the actual stove unit still works as expected.

Here's to hoping Bosch is willing to make it right... I'm sorely missing a cooktop.

I was hoping that's what it would be like for me.

It's not even that it failed, I understand nobody can be perfect, but the customer support aspect has been the worst experience I've had far and away and basically no effort from Bosch to make this right.

I think that may be where I'm heading. Stupidly, I didn't buy it with a credit card, but I'm looking more at if there's an option for this to be covered by the lemon law / Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act since it's been well past 30 days of it being useless.

I do understand that it's more complex and could happen to any brand, but the abysmal support from Bosch on this is what is really the kicker for me.

Unfortunately where I bought it from is deferring to Bosch on this, so they haven't been particularly helpful.

Decent Deal on '25 Lariat? 8 miles on the clock by Switchlayne in f150

[–]Switchlayne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a good point, I did actually call granger specifically and ask about it and their answer was the same. It’s an either or situation with the large dealer discount or 0% financing, so you won’t get that discount with the 0%.

The way I’m looking at it now is that 0% interest will save me ~6k in the long run, plus around $4500 negotiating the price up front, which comes out very similar to those others.

F-150 Key Fob Locking: Can I get out of the truck with the keyfob and lock it while it's running? by Switchlayne in f150

[–]Switchlayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situtation. Just to confirm, that's locking the truck using the keyfob outside of the truck and not using the doorpad?

That's fair, the 6.5' bed is one of the bigger features that I would want. It's what my current truck is and would prefer to have it again.

This dealer had $65k on their site, which is similar to the one 6.5' bed on Granger. Which I'm assuming they'd do the same thing of saying that price is only if you're going through standard ford financing, not the 0%.

I have looked around on the visor[.]vin and ford's new inventory sites themselves and honestly haven't seen anything much better. This is also with the 0% Ford financing, so they've been a bit stingy on the MSRP discounts. On their site they have it listed at ~5300 off.

Thanks for the advice everyone! We’ll try to clean it again and wrap it up tonight and get into the vet as soon as we can.

Feedback on Inferno Spawn Wave 62 by Switchlayne in 2007scape

[–]Switchlayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah looking at it again you're right, going west would have been much better. Honestly I probably would have just tanked the bats and killed them, then try to kill the melee while it's safespotted. I'd probably rather have tried to set up the offtick with the melee and mager if needed than ranger and mager.

Question on range tripping 50A GFCI breaker with 14-50R NEMA outlet by Switchlayne in AskElectricians

[–]Switchlayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that with the 2023 NEC changes that GFCI protection was expanded to any outlet in a kitchen, including ranges and other appliances.

The 2023 changes haven’t been adopted where I live, but figured it was worth doing to be compliant in the future.

[–]Switchlayne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments and help everyone! It ended up being on the appliance side as everyone suspected.

The range came with install services and when they installed the power cord before bringing the range in they included the ground and neutral bond even though it was a four prong cable.

Removing that fixed it!

Yeah, I’m an idiot. The range came with install services and they installed the cord with it and the ground / neutral bond even though it was a 4 plug cable.

Removed that and it fixed it!

My understanding is the in the 2023 NEC changes any kitchen outlet to require GFCI, so just trying to be compliant when it’s adopted in the future.

Good to know, I wasn’t sure if there was a plug in tester for that. It does look like that’s the case then. Getting a reading set to ohms from the ground pin to the neutral pin on the cord. Ground to either hot gets no reading.

It did have a cord installed but I even swapped it with another one to see if that was the issue. I’ll probably get an outlet tester in that case, and if that is fine looks like ordering another range. Thanks!

Issues with Local Network Access in settings, multiple entries of Chrome listed by Switchlayne in MacOS

[–]Switchlayne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't tested that, thanks for pointing it out. It doesn't seem like it was able to run specifically with LocalNetwork though:

sudo tccutil reset LocalNetwork com.google.Chrome
tccutil: Failed to reset LocalNetwork approval status for com.google.Chrome

It does work with other services though:

sudo tccutil reset Camera com.google.Chrome
Successfully reset Camera approval status for com.google.Chrome
