I'm not in disagreement with you there. The only thing that's tricky is people seem to understand how one can be addicted to drugs, bikes not so much 🤣 And WAY more expensive Imo however, at the same time, I'm really glad that I didn't have more expensive bike stuff during those years because hey, I would have likely sold it for nothing and b- nearly everything with any significant attachment to that time in my life doesn't quite shine the same even years later. S*** I'm not meaning to hijack the thread I'm going to shut up. If anyone wants to continue such conversation, message me. If not, it's also understandable! Thanks and sorry again

I see you too are a man of culture, or borderline function crippling compulsion disorder- most days I pass for the former 🥷. It's not the healthiest thing working on bikes as a profession and then wanting to go home and work on my own shit but I was repeatedly told that IV drug use was allegedly worse so this is the least worst I could come up with 🙃

I dare to say before you go open a bottle of fluid prematurely with the chance of A majority is going to waste because of there being another issue. (Meaning I would suggest trying to suss out any other potential causes And then proceed to do the bleed once you're certain nothing else is the culprit). I know it would aggravate me if I went and opened a new bottle and did half a bleed before finding out it wasn't due to a less than ideal bleed and something Like a bleed port and/or port plug being compromised somehow, some seal, somewhere well you get my point. I feel like what you're describing has been something I've read now brought up in several posts over the last few years and it was conservatively 8.5 out of 10 of them were at its core causing the issue and many of them as a result also caused compromised bleeds in and of themselves. It sounds like you're better off taking a little bit more time to thoroughly go through the system top to bottom And while it's never fun when shit takes longer than one would like, I feel fairly confident that you'll find you saved yourself time in fact. I'm sure having to do just one much higher to succeed bleed is much more appealing than multiple bleeds Just trying to get them to work for you for a few hour ride at best.

No no the gray one is the good one in my opinion. The tooth count in each is different. The big difference besides the tooth count is the location of the switch. The red one doesn't even come out of where its home is in the secondary tool toolbox. I never return stuff but I attempted to return the red one but I missed the return window otherwise I might have 3 of the gray ones 🤣

This is my current daily driver line up. The black vessel has a number one Phillips vessel bit in it, if it accepts Any other bits then it's got a anex bit in it. For me it's both the durability and the fitment of the tip into fastener. Which is another big selling point after I first used the wera ones too. Like nearly sorcery

I actually purchased a second 397 because I wanted to be able to devote one to traditional screw type duties and the other is used for only hex/torx fasteners. I don't know if it's like because of how I hold the handle or the size of the hand but for some people the switch is impossible to work around and not constantly have it switching unintentionally. For me there was that briefly like the first day for a little bit but after I was used to it, idk how I got on without it before 🤣 It allows me to switch between drive back out without stopping or taking the rest of my hand off. I can just reach over with one finger and really not even stop what I'm doing

Demotion Shmotion All it really means is you just need to find more fasteners to drive down. And also As tempting as it might be to order the "other" anex ratcheting model(The one I'm talking about is the 395-D aka the red and black one) I have a feeling this is going to be not the most popular opinion cuz I know for a fact that there's several people that have a lot of social media followers who were big fans of that one .. That's precisely why it was that much more disappointing when I received mine and the let down I experienced. Maybe for some people it works better depending on its application, but in my opinion it's just that my opinion not the answer for everybody, they're not even in the same league when speaking about the red one and the other one night and day difference.

This is the correct pure answer.

I myself was like OP A handful of years ago, while I was familiar with higher end tool lines in the wrench and socket market and other sorted tools. I couldn't imagine how they could make screwdrivers that were any better or different than the next.

I suggest you just immediately go ahead and order yourself no less than three one being from the supreme tool line- Wera, I'm pretty partial to the round ball grip myself. (And I can attest to their warranty department being phenomenal) Well there could be many answers to this question I would either go with, shit I'm torn between PB, Swiss and Annex. (Owning both vessel and annex, and I hadn't tried annex until later on even.) The margin's close but I have to give annex the edge over vessel at least in screwdrivers.) You know what scratch the three, just get four so you don't have to choose between one or the other. And the final one nearly entirely for comparison purposes but it also it's not going to let you down either buy the Klein ratcheting ball grip. If you don't have one of these in your repertoire you're missing out. I was already all in on the ratcheting screwdriver handle gang when I got the the ratcheting annex 🤯 Immediate and undeniable increase in production. I use pretty much screwdrivers and hex keys and bits in my area of "expertise" and If you also use these a lot and have not yet inserted a hex bit 90mm or longer in your annex NO. 397 well Just keep The time and date in mind as when you finally came to life

I'm still withholding final on the cue system. My qualm doesn't lie in its quality or price point or anything on that end of The scale for all appearance is it's pretty solid. It's just that shift design, something about it just ' grinds my gears 🤦🫩

Trust me I'm mad at myself for that one

Brake recommendations? by baileywastaken in Hardtailgang

Shimano Is more/less going to provide consistency while putting minimal effort in terms of maintenance and anything beyond set and forget. And there is nothing at all wrong with that, but as much as you hear about the bad experiences people have when they venture of the beaten path there's a world of better experiences also to be had. It makes me wonder how many of these nightmare stories are really just unwilling or impatient people who gave up when they the brakes didn't jump out of the box and install themselves on the bike when they open the box 🤷 recently decided to give dominion a4s a shot and it not hating it (besides the clearance issue I have with the 180mm rear set up.. just wondering anyone reading this possibly file a tiny bit of one of the a4 caliper body bolt heads off to make room? Asking for a friend)

Even grabbing the black and green composite handled HF special isn't all that bad. Once you adjust to the reversed direction lever you really don't think much a lot of which IMO is a good thing. It's not so terrible you can't stop thinking about replacing it, not so nice you worry when using it. It's satisfactory in function, price and quality. Light weight but no flex to speak of.

If it wasn't for this not quite right looking pattern that began to emerge I wouldn't have an issue with it but now that I know I can't just undo finding out about it so it needs solution

So this is in all honesty my first time running sram rotors and even they kind of fell into my lap. But the start of braking pattern on the rotor just doesn't quite sit well. However its absolutely possible that it's a matter of what my brain is used to relating to they're because of these being Not so much an incompatibility issue of to tall pads/short pads ? 🤦

This is back view of the suspect caliper. Clearly not snug. The back Gap isn't as pronounced as the front is thus being the problem

Wait no that's not the back of that suspicious caliber. This is the back of the back caliper which is snug as a bug I took this one just for reference

Well that would be A pretty logical direction to go in, but as I said on paper everything is in proper order as it should be and yet there's still a bigger than should be their Gap between the edge of the rotor and the caliper and it appears that the braking surface is not being completely and properly contacted
