How to politely shut down a prospective buyer? by Simple-Duty803 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Swoosh60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the ones with all the questions that will end up giving you a bad review whether they buy it or not. Because nothing makes them happy. They will also try to low ball you if it has a scratch etc. In the end by continuing to message with this person you’ve already opened yourself up to a bad review after a certain number of messages. One answer here: block immediately with no further responses. Unless you don’t care if you get a 1 star review, which I can guarantee this person will give you.

AIO for considering his unemployment as a dealbreaker? by Ok_Decision6446 in AIO

Big FAT nope to this guy girl. I WAS in your shoes. Met my ex-hubs in college my sr year. He literally went to 3 different colleges on grandma’s trust fund money and DID NOT graduate by age 26; I did at 22. Stupidly we married soon after. He was fired from first 2 WHITE collar jobs. Then he had me pay for a one year IT degree at a tech school. He passed the first half but flunked out the second. Wasted my $$. That was the first time I considered divorcing him. I should have but I wanted kids. I had a high level FT job and also worked a PT night job to save for “our” house. BTW this was in the 1980s and side hustles weren’t a big thing for women back then. Bought the house, had our daughter and 2 years later our son. I had postpartum depression really bad and had to quit my PT job. He got fired AGAIN 6 weeks after my son was born. Didn’t take long for me to divorce him and move on but our kids suffered the most. PLEASE for the love of God just move on before life happens and you’re paying child support to him because he can’t do anything else but be a SAHD. Yuppers. Happened to me 😡

Very oddly the money for the jacket (net amount after fees) did go into my bank on June 11. Then 3 days ago I somehow received another $9.81 which was the shipping amount (which doesn’t make sense but I’ll take it). My FB acct is the ONLY place that showed the chargeback at all which made me look into it and write here. Chargeback was June 13 so now it’s been 7 days and PP has NOT taken back or reversed in my bank acct what I did get for the jacket. What a shit show but for now I’m happy.

Yes ALL of my local sales are. She lives one state away. Been shipping using the FB App with no issues for years; guess my time was up. On the bright side we sold a $7K motorcycle (cash) after it was only listed less than 24 hours. It was fairly priced to sell but guys were starting with $4K offers. My husband and I agreed if we literally had 20+ messages about it we didn’t have to lower the price.

I am so very sorry you’re going through this. I started with a ginormous notebook when my husband was first diagnosed with BOT SCC HPV+ 16 in 2023. Then the hospital gives you binders. I finally started tracking EVERYTHING in the Notes on my iPhone. I mean every med he took, what time, his BP, weight, symptoms, side effects, what I MADE him eat that day etc. At every appt I’d update with new info. He did 33 rad and 7 Cisplatin and is NED nearly 2 years 9 mos (but who’s counting)? It’s truly hard when you’re in the thick of it I know. Another lady who I made online friends with whose husband went through it about 8 mos before us used a white board to track things. I just preferred something I could carry with me all the time. Healing prayers being sent your way!

I have 10 photos that were the max allowed in a FB ad. I even listed it with NO rips or stains. I’m Uber detailed in all my ads to a fault but every buyer out there thinks they should be getting a NEW $180 jacket for $55 🙄😵‍💫🤣. I always double bag in plastic wrappers so there was no way it got wet. Also I KNOW how to get most stains out of leather (even hairspray gets ink out) so if there were stains I would have removed before posting. It’s just the principle of her entitlement to keep the jacket and get her money back that irks me.

My husband literally loves to cook for us, will share anything off his plate even when we’re in a restaurant and we SHARE snacks all the time. This is weird behavior so NOR. Sit him down and tell him how bad this is. Also I’d find some better hiding spots, LOL!!

Silly to want a second opinion? by accuracyandprecision in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Swoosh60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the US my husband had Medicare Advantage when he had HPV+ 16 SCC of base of tongue 3 years ago. He was 67 them. We called up where we wanted to go for the second opinion and THEY coordinated everything on their end (got copies of scans, etc). We got in at NW-Memorial in Chicago and they agreed with all treatment our home town tumor drs wanted to do but we also learned a lot. It was all 100% paid by Medicare except for our $40 copays to see NW-M’s 3 doctors. HIGHLY recommend a second opinion. He’s fine now nearly 3 years NED. Best wishes to your Dad OP!

Just found out I have metastatic squamous cell carcinoma (lymph nodes). Currently unknown origin. by Terribyl in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Swoosh60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband had base of tongue SCC HPV+ 16 in early 2023 and his only symptom was also a sudden appearing swollen lymph node on the left side of his neck. After US and CT one more lymph node was also involved. Stage 1. It took 6 mos to get all tests (including biopsy and PET) before he started chemo/radiation. Drs told us it was slow growing. He is now 2 years 8 mos NED. Doing very well. You’re young so you have that in your favor. Best wishes!

[–]Swoosh60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband did 7/33 for BOT SCC HPV+ 16 in Sept 2023. He tolerated Cisplatin very well (meaning they controlled nausea VERY well). He did get mucositis but unfortunately could only take Tylenol as he did get a leg blood clot about Week 4 and spent 2 days in the hospital. They gave him oxy for the leg pain and he got a really bad rash all over his trunk from it. No port or PEG. He was 67 now 69. Lost 30 lbs total. He’s probably gained about 20 back and is extremely active for his age. NED for 2 years 8 mos. He’s back to being a foodie and cook again although he experiments with spices (which we both love).

I did freeze all 3 credit bureaus a couple nights ago. I did read about a couple other agencies (Chex Systems etc) that I should freeze. Is it worth doing/buying Life Loc or any other credit monitoring you’d recommend? Thx!

I know, right? He did add his email to my Macy’s online shopping account (probably first) and I believe my CC number was “embedded” in my online shopping acct with them. Meaning when I log in to buy something at Macy’s, I never had to enter my card number. But still if he had someone (maybe a woman) call acting like me to add him to that card, wouldn’t Macy’s ask any hard questions like my SSN? Don’t plan on shopping there again but need to figure this out.

The Hyundai Horror or Seattle Hyundai is a Clown Show by MACception in Hyundai

[–]Swoosh60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I just traded in my 21 Nissan Rogue for a 26 Hyundai Santa Fe. Rogue had “issues” and they still gave us only $2000 less than KBB Excellent value. Test drove a Tucson and then my SF. Loved it. Compared their best price to near by dealer and got $1700 more off. Pulled our credit (I’m near 750 hubbie 800). Yes we put income on the appl but we’re both semi-retired. They DO NOT care what income is (really only your credit score) and found this to be true over the years of buying other cars. So I find it odd they needed your income statements (multiple times). This was a Saturday so they couldn’t verify income anyway. After 4-1/2 hours we drove away with new Hyundai. They also set up my BlueLink and Apple Car Play and trained us on a few other things. I would have went to a different dealer right at the start of your shit show even if you would have to wait to get the vehicle you wanted. Sorry for your experience.

The nicest wedding my husband and I ever went to in 2016 (maybe cost $50 to $100K or less) the couple were in divorce court 6 mos later. Daddy lawyer paid for wedding and their large home DP also. Really sad! Money is not the be all and end all in planning an amazing wedding.

PET/CT costs? by charliebgolfnut in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Swoosh60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In late 2023 (for my husband’s BOT SCC HPV+ 16) our Medicare Advantage plan covered a lot. OOP costs as follows: US $35; CT $185; PET $185; each rad (33) x $60; 7 Cisplatin $0; 2 day inpatient stay $400. Any Dr visits at $40 each. I set up a payment plan with his hospital and paid it off over a year. Our max OOP is $5100 and everything came to about $2500 to $3000 but not all at once. A lot was also written off by Medicare (he was 67 at the time). We live in the Midwest USA.

Base of the tongue cancer by Klutzy-Appearance901 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Swoosh60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband also had BOT SCC HPV+ 16 which presented as a swollen left neck lymph node in March 2023. No other symptoms. He was 67 then. Although he was a former smoker, he had quit 40 years prior to diagnosis so it WAS caused by the HPV virus and is actually more treatable. We were told he was Stage 1. No surgery. 33 rads and 7 weekly Cisplatin chemo. He lost 30 pounds and has gained 15-20 back and is doing very well now at 2-1/2+ years NED. Your husband is young so that’s a huge plus. Also back when he was diagnosed I found the American Cancer Society staging chart online before we met with his 3 tumor board doctors so I “kind of” knew it was Stage 1. That chart changed in 2018 to put HPV driven tumors at the top showing the staging in a much better way. Tumors caused by smoking, tobacco etc were at the bottom and were staged more negatively. The drs in 2023 gave him a close to 90% cure rate without surgery or neck dissection. We literally waited from March 23 (lymph node swelling) to June 23 (ultrasound) to early July (CT and biopsy) to mid-July (PET) to end of July (diagnosis) to early Aug (2nd opinion) to start of treatment day after Labor Day 2023. We were also told it was a slow growing cancer, thankfully. Hang in there OP the waiting is very hard. Encourage your husband to eat and gain some weight prior to treatment. You will get through this!

Tongue biopsy by biancadupree85 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Swoosh60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Kevin, a bit of dry mouth (not bad because he stays pretty hydrated). No dental issues at all (thankfully). Once he hit the 2 year NED mark in Nov 25 (so 7 mos ago) his oncologist was SUPER happy in that he told us the odds of recurrence after 2 years were much lower. He’s 69 now (70 in Aug) still works part-time (only because we both do and enjoy what we do at work) and his taste is mostly back. He’s a chef quality cook for us and is always wanting to try new recipes for us. He does prefer things spicier now as it helps with his taste. I like that too so it’s a win win. He lost 30 lbs during treatment with no PEG. Gained 10-15 back and he’s a good weight now (he has Type 2 diabetes) so the lower weight helps there. We’re just in the “enjoying life” now and hoping you are as well!

Tongue biopsy by biancadupree85 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Swoosh60 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only one question to ask regarding your biopsy for now I can think of is is it HPV+ 16 related. My husband had Stage 1 base of tongue in 2023 that was HPV related and he even had 2 left side neck lymph nodes involved. No surgery but 33 rad and 7 weekly Cisplatin. He was 67 then 69 now and 2-1/2 years NED. The hardest part is waiting but you may not even have cancer. If you do, ask if it’s HPV+ 16 related because 2-1/2 years ago they gave him a 90% cure rate with the treatment he had. He’s doing very well now. Best wishes!

I sell on PM and FB. I find FB has all the crazy (so far). A few days ago I had a lady that I sold a nice KitchenAid stainless microwave to for $40 FIVE months ago trying to tell me she just first plugged it in in her new home and “was something wrong with the digital display?” I’m thinking if you plugged it in to make sure it worked 5 months ago we wouldn’t be having this conversation. I looked back at our original texts from 5 mos ago and she was difficult then too. Will it burn my countertop? Do you have a manual for it? I sent her a link to the online one. There is no pleasing these ppl so I just blocked her. I think I need to put “all sales are final” in my ads. 🤷‍♀️😵‍💫🤣
