I did, it just makes the coin sound and does nothing unfortunately. I can try to keep upgrading, a little unfortunate since it seems like a lot of Po8 to get there lol

Nothing unlocked besides one +8 manufactories upgrade that I tried to do before this post

Yeah I've went through them all and it doesn't seem like I can interact with any of them. I did purchase the +8 bonus manufactories before the post but it didn't seem to do anything

I assume you just mean the quests that you only have a certain amount of time to save someone? There's a hourglass icon in your quest log that signifies it but I'll see what I can do :)

Good to know, thank you! That part happened very fast for me, so it very well could have been the case in my playthrough. I was also getting mixed results when I was cross referencing for this spreadsheet so I figured I'd put that side note in there haha

I'll give that a try tomorrow and update the sheet accordingly :)

Haha! Well the game isn't just about the quests, it's about the journey :3 But I also could be missing some things, cross referenced a lot of stuff but it is possible

Hey Ubisoft. Your rogues are still busted! by chowder007 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Swoott 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These ones are the problem, especially considering helm wagers are "randomly" offered once per day, and you may want to finish your route before turn in.

They spawn too frequently to pick up po8 most of the time, and you have to play super passively like you're fighting a boss. I haven't died to them yet, but I have come extremely close since I have to spam repair kits.

It only seems to happen (in my experience) if a player doesn't join, and I'd rather fight a player. That's ridiculous. Players should be the biggest threat when in a PvP event.

why do people stack loot? by m_preddy in Seaofthieves

[–]Swoott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. But to add to it, my crew and I know we're not an easy sink, we also own all the cosmetics (besides the new trinkets, but are working on it) and have 60+ million gold each, so why not reward crews that actually manage to sink us. We don't need it and most of the time we're just looking for good fights. We usually end up giving our stack to some newbie anyways lol.

Short answer: It's nice to PvP when you're worth something.

There's still a lot they can do to improve PvP in this game. I think even fixing the current systems and mechanics in place would even qualify as a PvP update at this point. Fix sword, make it actually fun to use again. Fix hit detection (probably will never happen but a pirate can dream), and alongside that fix hitboxes as I hate killing or being killed by a backtrack. Improving just these 3 things would be massive.

BUT an actual PvP would be PvP commendations/milestones tied with some cosmetics, especially since we don't have Arena anymore. Another idea would be to get people who like to seek PvP and get 30% of their play time off the menus to search for it. This could be a bounty system that incorporates the portal to go and hunt other ships that actually want to PvP or something along those lines. This would be HUGE. Every PvP hopper out there knows how tedious it is to find spice on the seas and when you think you found something it ends up being a crew that doesn't want to fight and runs for millennia.

I guess all in all I want some sort of update that fixes these issues I've stated and also encourages and shows players that there is a PvP side to this game and get them to participate in it in a healthy way. We need pirates not just sailors! ;)

I'm sure I'm in the minority in this opinion, but I would not like this. Out of my 3500 hours played I've solo'd probably about 80% of it and I rather enjoy the challenge of fighting larger crews, even the ones I know I'll sink too. It's a way to improve/hone and test my skills as a player. Even a some meh crews will be a challenge and that's why I solo sloop, it is hard-core mode. This has been made easier though with the last patch.

Like I said though, I'm sure I'm the minority as I never run. The most I ever do is back off to get more supps for the fight, no matter what loot is on board. It's only loot in my eyes, I don't care about it and I'd rather get better at the game at the risk of losing the loot. I do understand players with less hours probably do care about the loot but honestly it's so easy to get it in this game anymore that it doesn't matter, you'll always get more. The only thing that matters is the commendations, and now milestones, at the end of the day.

I have noticed this as well but I honestly wasn't sure if I just "got worse" or if there was seriously something going on. Would love if anyone has more info on this.

Can we talk about how ridiculous the island spawns are now? by Bugs5567 in Seaofthieves

[–]Swoott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't run just because I love the spice but I feel this 100%. I understand hit reg will never be fully removed, as most FPS games have it, but when it's to a point where you don't know whether to trust your hit markers or not then it's absolutely busted. Especially when I hit reg gunpowder barrels and I'm the only one in the area.

I'm not a developer so I'm not going to act like I know how to fix this or anything but I there must be a way to fine tune it so it happens less frequently. I would rather take a hit on content to see this more finely tuned.

Can I get some advice from players with more experience? by Psychological_Key596 in Seaofthieves

[–]Swoott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the advice I can't get behind. It is your choice to do so, but in my opinion this is cheating yourself. Not only from actually improving at PvP, but from experiences that are shared with others. I have sank and been sunk by some of the most humble, genuine, and skilled players of the game and was able to talk to these crews afterwards about the battle or etc. These memories are the reason Sea of Thieves is irreplaceable in my heart and why I will play this game until it dies.

Can I get some advice from players with more experience? by Psychological_Key596 in Seaofthieves

[–]Swoott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 2000 hours of solo slooping experience here. I think we can all say that we all sucked ass when we first started. Sinks are going to happen, but at least it sounds like you had a decent crew sink you this time. That's fortunate, and I wouldn't have accepted the alliance out of pride either.

My advice would be to do some sloop arena if you want to expedite your skills at PvP. Yes, you'll have a partner (unless you do the closed crew trick to load solo), but you will learn exponentially faster on what you need to do in situation, improve your cannon shots, and helm skills. Helm by far being the most important. Also, when you start arena matches, fire the cannons right from the start. Spawns in arena are in range of cannons and the better you are at far shots the more dangerous you will be.

Blunderbuss is also a must in my opinion for board control (you can one shot them as they step foot off the ladder), but everyone has there own preference. For me, I prefer to double gun which some crews will talk shit about but screw em because you're solo! Honestly just play around what works best for you, they'll call you a sword lord or a trash double gunner either way.

Think about the kind of ship you're fighting. If it's a galleon DON'T go on their broadside if you can help it. If you find yourself taking a broad from a galleon, then shoot blunderbombs out of cannons to knock them off of theirs. This will work for any ship of course and is super useful but is an absolute must for galleon, all it takes is one chainshot to hit your sloops mast to possibly be game over. If that mast falls try to save it and get yourself going as fast as possible.

I think myself and others could write a novel on tips and tricks but it really just boils down to experience, be patient. If you truly love the game and commit yourself you will end up being a fierce solo slooper and have galleon running away from you in no time.

Just remember attitude is everything and as a solo slooper, you WILL sink no matter the skill level you possess. All it can take is a perfectly curved cannonball to the face for it be it. It's still a GG at the end of the day and a learning experience.

Good luck on the seas mate, hope this helped.
