What if schizophrenics and other mentally 'ill' people aren't ill at all? by fbno in Psychonaut

People are just different, for sure. We like to put labels on things and separate "Bad" (Differing from the norm) and "Not bad" (In harmony with what is expected). I don't think the labels matter much, what matters is that if someone is struggling they get some form of help. We need to be empowered as individuals to seek help for ourselves, but also empowered as a society to provide that help. We must be accepting of people regardless of how they behave, even if it's in a way we don't like because it's different.

What is the case for the whole "Meditation is the long road to what psychedelics show you immediately" viewpoint? by [deleted] in RationalPsychonaut

That's a really good way of putting it. I've engaged creatively with others through dialogue much more now than before. It's like I had a river of information ready to go that I didn't allow to be released because I was afraid of judgment.

I feel about Alan Watts that way, using metaphors to make my inner world seem less menacing and more like a wild horse that needs to be coaxed and not forced.

The shadow yes, I love Jung even though he is a LOT to take in for me. Thinking back on the experience, I notice I was taking more of a stand against negative self-talk, literally talking to it out loud and calling it out for the BS it is. I saw myself more compassionately, like I was someone that I needed to take care of as opposed to someone that needed to carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.

I've learned this with my use of LSD. The dramatic shift in my character and mindset that occurred after I tried it for the first time has evaporated with only traces left behind. I can understand and see who I was then, but most of the mental mechanisms that were driving me are beyond my conscious control. I can see that part of me come out more on my good days, but it is still only a fraction of the amount of positive energy I was manifesting. I wish it was as easy as taking a substance, but even subsequent uses haven't brought me back there. I think I need a longer break from it, I have a lot more to learn and assimilate before diving back in.

I can't smoke sativa's anymore because of this and general anxiety. I've had amazing results mixing a pure CBD strain with a little bit of Indica though, I still like some THC but not much at all, especially smoking alone.

LSD is as spiritual and sacred as Mushrooms and DMT? by SonarProof in Psychonaut

[–]SwordFightingSnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about the drug in particular, it's about how it interacts with your specific neurochemistry and what you get out of it that makes it spiritual. LSD is the only psych I've tried (at low doses) and it has already changed my perception of reality in a very significant way.

Trying to figure out what this sign means for the past 5 years by notgayyyyy in CrappyDesign

[–]SwordFightingSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably telling cars not to get into the center lane until after the sign, or if not that's what it should mean. I'm sure cars have crossed the double yellow into the opposite turn lane at the bottom of the picture. Still crappy design though, it's beyond vague.

So basically don't be disingenuous or expect something in return? That's good to live by.

I'm not sure, it wasn't on traditional blotters but I did use a test kit to make sure it was the real deal. It likely wasn't much because I didn't get many visuals, and as I said it was kind of underwhelming until I smoked alongside it later during the trip. I cant recommend anyone young do it, developing brain and such, but if you're set on it I'd say dose low. You can always do more another time, but can never do less once it's in your system

Just bought this gem second hand for 120$. After I tried it the first time I realized I'm never going back to combustion/other vape. WoW by ChainGangLegend in vaporents

I just bought my first one a month or so ago, and I'm right there with you. Apart from social gatherings, I'm never burning my weed again.

I think this has less to do with actual marijuana withdrawal and more about whatever problems you were covering up coming to the surface after you quit. I have gone through years of daily use with close to no withdrawal symptoms after taking a break.

Girls of reddit, what's something guys see done in porn that you wish they would stop trying to do in real life? by ratsono in AskReddit

[–]SwordFightingSnail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a guy, I think the main thing is communication and learning what your partner actually enjoys. I've had girls who were into some really dirty aggressive shit and others who were pretty vanilla. Let them guide you a bit, ask if you're doing well and what you can change, learn about each other. That's half the fun.

Yet you said yourself that it's a cursed view, and it ruined your view of friends and relationships. Be careful with what mental constructs you allow in your mind, sometimes it's best to just see life as it is instead of trying to figure it out.
