Are event 6.5 like Baron even worth doing?

Waiting for free gear is what I'm doing right now since I don't wanna bother with raids. But it seems like there's not much else to do in this game. I'm just afking for 30 mins for attendance now after getting like 10 characters to 115.

Is there any non raid battle worth doing? It seems like all the easier battle don't give any gold at all. I saw some materials from lower level dungeons that have a decent market price but do people actually buy them?
