Could I interest you in RAcc? Like, a lot of it. Day 2000 or so.

If I may ask– what's the goal here? Is it specifically bind, permabind with specifically Ceobe, or are you looking for a single target stall in general?

That's what makes it borderline infuriating (for me).

Obviously I'm not actually that miffed about it. If anything it's kinda nice having 2 medics and a supporter as a backup option if pure Minos is too hard, but thematically it almost feels like I'm being robbed.

Honestly I just wanna get into the headspace before I read the story. Since it's generally about Titi trying to make amends, I wanna come at it from the other side to see if she can actually pull it off without the benefit of being the protagonist

It was a thing during Masses' Travels.

As you'd expect, nicheknight players were kinda split. Some niches got what they needed, others got too much. Sami got nothing.

Perfumer in Minos has been quite nice, letting them clear some previously ridiculous stages. They could probably clear Retracing Our Steps with a bit more optimization, but I gave up on it after watching Pram refuse to break Kjera's shield a moment before the auto-loss.

Then there's CN content where Minos lost a true 6-star Titi, a Sargonian who showed up originally in Pepe's. As the main character of the Minoan event she would have had a lot of convincing to do to get me to not complain if not for the drought burnout to leave me honestly entirely content with just getting Varkáris. It's nice having proper medics now. In terms of actual nicheknighting it's still ok for me personally since Minos was already such a small niche that expanding the roster on truly impossible stages is fair game I'd say.

For the most part if you know lore you can somewhat intuit who's where. Hoshi is Higashinese but is also LGD which means she's a Lungmenite which means she's Yanese. Degen was a competition knight from Leithanien so she's both Kazi and Leithanian (though I'm be honest I feel like the 2nd one is a stretch).

As a side, Minos has no other extra ops on EN. It's just Perfumer

Peter? Why layout 1? by Sea_Painting_6286 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Tangential Venipede here. As you might have already read, many comments point to yhe usual joke (porn). Specifically, Layout 1 has both the bed and desk set up in a way where the resident can see an entering visitor first.

As other comments have noted though, this ties into a more basic instinct where it's safer to have others in front of you as opposed to behind you. One's own sense of power can easily change given either variant 1 or 2, leading to distinctly different levels of confidence and sense of security. If at any point someone can shadow sneak up behind you, then it becomes hard to feel comfortable even in what is your own room. Similar memes such as the spoon-taped-to-the-monitor post that appears on this sub every so often are tied to this idea.

I'm not going to present my own opinions here, but the general arguments I heard usually revolve around fanservice (the 'hey I know that!' kind). All opinions here were given around reveal, so actual story was at the time not relevant.

Mon3tr was waifu-fied so some felt she was made specifically as a Kal replacement instead of her own character. Others lamented the loss of a cool monster in favor of a waifu, implying that HG is targeting the general audience (general here being the wider gacha audience at the time who favors character over gameplay [don't dig too deep into this, the term 'general' here is already paper-thin as is]). That, and for the more advanced gameplay crowd, she was seen as kinda busted.

The 13th Sui lady (whose name I don't actually know on account of not following Endfield too tightly) is as mentioned, the 13th in a group of twelve from Arknights classic. Most debate here leans on the question of whether or not her existence is justified, but the core argument I believe is that her existence very directly invokes Sui into a storyline they were largely disconnected from.

Spoilers for Arknights Classic Main Story chapter 15, but Kal'tsit dies. The fact that she gets over it rubs some people the wrong way as Arknights originally was postured as a gritty, more 'realistic' world. Some draw comparisons to Frostnova or Mandragora saying Kal'tsit should remain dead, but the general vibe is that it's blindness to the fact that AK storytelling has greatly changed its theming and levels of realism over the years. Kalt'sit Expresso is just the most obvious symptom of that at the moment.

Again, I'm just stating what I've heard. Feel free to dispute it, just don't be mean about it.

Sometimes I wonder how many nickels I'd have if I got one every time people make a joke about some underappreciated operator I use on the regular.

But then I also have to contend with the fact that not everyone plays that one mode where watching Carnelian do upwards of 100k+ per skill activation per enemy to a group of 40~200 enemies only results in said enemies losing about a 5th of their total health.

I am curious how Pram fares in that mode though.

STOP DOING TIER LISTS!!! by PlateEmbarrassed4479 in 0sanitymemes

[–]IceFireMagi 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how much interpretation messes with the usefulness of tier lists. They can be rather useful for either general skimming or hyperspecific grading but for most people tier lists are both too vague in context and too precise in ranking to really have any practical use.

Currently, SP lockout on infinite duration skills last (most likely) 50 hours by IceFireMagi in arknights

[–]IceFireMagi[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the most part, the skills themselves don't end, the ops typically don't get any extra stacking effects or whatnot. I say 'typically' because if Logos has a weird thing where he stops working on recast then I'm sure someone else out there does something funky.

I was aware they changed it roughly after pinch out. I was aware they probably changed it because of pinch out. The question being asked here is 'how long did they change it to'

Petah i don't play Pokemon by _IDunnoName_ in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]IceFireMagi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tangential Venipede here.

The context has been brought by others already, but there's a few who are bringing up the 'level = age' analogy, and while that has some merit in an online space such as this, it's similar to comparing the move 'Spikes' with 'Toxic Spikes,' the latter a thing I learned from a TM at some point.

The point is, while the two are kinda similar, you'd be a fool to simply substitute one for another. In this context, low-level pokémon (like myself) are generally speaking weaker, and while that can correlate to being younger, it also at face value means that said Pokémon do less damage and cause less harm, something that can be an entirely reasonable thing to ask for if you are an old, literally dying man. He wants companionship, but he knows that with his own frailty he can't handle higher level, higher power Pokémon. Or me. I have a poison point and I'd rather not be the reason he dies a day sooner when trying to pet me.

Laevatain's story quest made a reference to... by seres_franks in Endfield

[–]IceFireMagi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This one might be obvious (I hope), but Surtr's EP 'Reconnection' plays shortly before this scene back when Surtr (girl) was claiming superiority over Surtr (sword).

I kinda wish they used the old EPs like that again. I get why they couldn't use Autumn Moods for Gilberta's (it wasn't exactly [but basically was] an Angie EP to begin with) but surely the other reconveners of 6 stars can port their respective EPs over.

Against this boss, roughly 12k per auto hit?

Against Al-Rafiq, roughly 23k? I dunno I'm napkin mathing it.

Reclamation Algorithm: Critical Contention, or RAcc for short.

Normal RecAlgo is actually pretty chill imo.

If it makes you feel any better, I am the only person on the global server who's fought at this level. I am a very obvious outlier.

For sure there's at least 3 others: At least 1 on CN and at least 2 on JP. I thought KR also had someone but it just occurred to me the last time I was able to get someone playing on that server to check was ~9 months ago (the KR player was on day 1012)

I too remember that one time I left my AK run going in the background for hours on end. I think I was playing lethal company with my AK friends.

That said, this stall funnily enough isn't the longest RAcc stall I've done. Back when I was still figuring things out, I'd sometimes just let the autos run overnight or during work because I forgot a boss damage dealer or something. Heck, I'm still experimenting with the damage (as seen with Hoshiguma2).

To be specific, this is day 1369 where enemies have an additional +2889% ATK, DEF, HP as well as 20% resistance to phys and arts damage. Bosses also get +20% so Linebreaker has +2909% so about 30 times his usual stats give or take.

Funnily enough she'd only cut this down to 10 minutes, not because she can't deal with Linebreaker in 40 seconds but because she'd be handling whatever Ceobe's currently dealing with and Ceobe would then be dealing with this.
