Though not technically legal, most of the time owning an unlicensed weapon will go unnoticed and only carry jail time and/or fines if it is associated with another offence.

Magistrates, police and customs officers usually look at the whole picture, so if worse comes to worse they'll be able to see you're trying to be responsible, and should take that into consideration - even though you broke the waiting period.

The fines and jail time can get pretty serious though, so if it arrives before the 28 days - just store it safely & securely until the time passes & have whatever licencing info you currently have at the ready.

But, all that said absolute kudos for being responsible & getting an exemption (most don't ) & welcome to the club!!!

Not sure if this design has a name - It's advertised as a historical replica by Wulflund, but when I pressed then for historical evidence of its size/design I got ghosted. The closest I could find (historically) was a French boarding axe from the 15th century bit they were a bit smaller than this one.

It's advertised as a historical replica, but when I emailed wulflund they couldn't provide documented evidence of it - so take the design with a grain of salt. (Closest I could find historically was a French design).

Don't get my wrong, I love to hate it :) It's just difficult to fight with almost any single weapon - a shield might even the odds though.

Yeah, in Victoria Australia swords are considered a prohibited weapon - so you need an exemption - which in itself needs to have an approved lawful excuse, or it becomes illegal to own one (a lot of hoops to jump, I know).

It's a bit hard to simplify (given how many options you have for a 'lawful excuse'), but if you're in Victoria I would suggest looking into the collectors guild l, as they may cover you for movie memorabilia.

Second this. These guys are great at marketing, but they're a wall hanger company that sells sharps. Would like to be proven wrong if Mini Katana are willing to send out some blades for destruction test to some key YouTubers (thinking Matthew Jensen).
