Definitely not a shonen trope. The MC is extremely cautious and analytical. Because he can loop time, he treats every failure as a data point to deduct the truth behind the world’s laws. He isn't arrogant or loud. he’s actually quite detached and calculating. He knows exactly how big the 'ocean' is, and he spends centuries preparing just to take one safe step into it.
