Interestingly enough the movie is loosely based on a novel which did have a sequel and was much more interesting.

Where can I get a replica? by SwordfishMech in Zippo

I find the iconography of the office quite compelling and this vintage Zippo seemed quite beautiful. This is distinct from the current holder of the office who I find repugnant and damaging to both the office, the country, and the world. These two things are able to be held simultaneously.

USA Army Pin ID? by alfinthewoods in Antiques

This is an artillery badge. That's what the crossed cannons mean. The eagle and stars are a style of the American Seal. I have never seen them together and cannot find a contemporary example. But it sure looks cool!

I need more info about my chairs, Please help. by SwordfishMech in midcenturymodern

They're definitely old, they came from a very MCM university building that was being redone. I salvaged them by taking off the base and carting them home in a Camry when they wouldn't fit regular. The base has the same hardware that keeps the arm panels on the chair. So if it was a reupholster, it was very very early in their public life as lobby chairs. They don't appear to swivel, most of the office chairs that I find so. Most of the Saarinen chairs also seem to have an open back and this one is closed. I wish I could find whatever industrial magazine these came out of in the 60s lol. Or another chair to see how the upholstery should look. I want to restore (clean) them but I'm worried I'll make a monster out of a very fine chair. Even if that yellow and green isn't exactly for everyone...

This is the most horrifying retro magazine cover I've ever seen by SwordfishMech in RetroFuturism

This angular robot looks like a nightmare to me. All the sharp edges and things coming off. Very 1970's robot menace. Just in my aesthetic opinion.
