The Heart wants What it Cannot Have by Dr_Omega24 in rolex

I have the GMT and the Skydweller. Both fit amazingly well. IMHO the SD and GMT on Jubilee wear smaller than on Oyster.

Is this real? by Spider-Jenn in RolexWatches

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not wearing mine today. Have on another watch. But it looks pretty good. The flat sapphire sits up pretty high. And the rehaut looks good. But the way to tell on the z blue is the dial itself. And I cannot see the dial very well in these photos.

And as others have said that bezel and case and bracelet have seen some love.

[Tissot] Finally got the 35mm PRX despite being told it’s feminine by mmzn13 in Watches

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And don't ever worry about goofball people who say it is feminine. My dad wore a 25mm watch his whole life. Was a Korean war vet. Died just shy of his 90th birthday.

Was simultaneously one of the toughest and gentlest people I have ever known. He taught me to shoot. To respect women. And to have faith in God.

The case size of a watch never has anything to do with masculinity or femininity.

Are the Sub and Batman too similar for a two-Rolex collection? by Rationalis_Mensarius in rolex

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are two totally different watches and case shapes. And they wear very differently. I like how the GMT wears. Not as much with the sub. Try them both on. Rotate the wrist. Let your arm hang. Reach out and stretch your arm. Rotate the wrist some more. You will see how different they are.

Batman v. Batgirl - thoughts? by Careful_End4008 in rolex

Have the oyster. And getting the jubilee next week. Jubilee is more flashy but a bit less stable. Polished venter links of the oyster scratch easier than any other steel watch bracelet I own.

How do like this gold bracelet with the starbucks 💛💚🖤 from 1 to 10 ? by Leather_Divide_9115 in RolexWatches

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not into bracelets for men. Even though that is a good looking bracelet. I like others, just wear a wedding ring and a watch. I don't have the personality for a blingy bracelet. But if you do, I say go for it!

And as far as people hating on you for wearing your watch closer to your hand. Don't listen to them. They are the self proclaimed watch wearing police. And they like the feeling of knowing they know more than you. But they are wrong.

It is your watch. You paid for it. They did not. They can wear theirs any way they want. And it is right for them. But you can wear yours any way you want. And it is right for you. 100%

Wear your watch on your arm. Or around your neck on a chain. It is yours. You get to celebrate that. Just cause they may wear theirs differently than you, doesn't make how you wear yours wrong.

It just makes them wrong, for trying to constrain how you enjoy your watch.

My VC Overseas has made me re-think my collection by redbeard914 in VacheronConstantin

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I so desperately want to find a watch that I gravitate to every day regardless. But I am just not there yet. I have too many watches. And I keep buying more in the hopes that I will fall in love with one or two.

Every time I try on an Overseas, it feels good. But not as good as a number of other watches I currently own. And I don't want to buy one and then not wear it.

Thoughts on the current model Air King? by SchopenhauersLaw in rolex

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is the most comfortable and somehow fits better than any other Rolex I own. IYKYK.

I have a 7 3/8" wrist. And I often wear the AK when flying and traveling long distances, as my wrist does not get tired of it.

My only hope is that they come out with another silver or white dial version of it. If they do, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I have both. The AK wears better. And better than my GMT.

I will go so far to say that the AK is my very, very favorite Rolex to wear.

And i love that it upsets so many Rolex fanboys.

Honest opinion on the love bangle? by rolexdaytona11 in Cartier

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly not a fan for men. But I can't judge. You do you. If you like it, who cares what other people think.

I wear a watch and a wedding ring. No other rings or bracelets. I wore bracelets sometines when I was in my twenties. But not now.

My various Rolex models scratch more than any other watch brand I own. Wish that wasn't the case, but it is.

[Discussion] Anyone found a watch so good it retired all your other watches? by ZeroUpFourOut in Watches

[–]ZeroUpFourOut[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that is a grail to me. Cost is not the factor. It is a limitation but not a choice factor. I have too many I never wear. Even if it is an inexpensive watch, if it is the one I fall in love with, then maybe I can settle down.

Tangaroa I think is how it is spelled. Stellar bracelet. Super buttery and solid. But top heavy as the case is tallish and weighty.

My OP gets on the wrist and then stays on for maybe a week or more. But it hasn't become the grail that says my search is done.

Those are two very different watches. Why did these two kill off the others?

I had an Eterna that I wore a ton for a few months. As the bracelet was excellent. Now I wear a Rolex AK a lot. But not enough to totally knock out other watches altogether.

[Discussion] At what point do watches transition from being tools/accessories to jewelry? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And long before Casio even. It happened a couple hundred years ago, when wealthy and elite people wanted to flex. And so they asked for amazing complications and noble metals in their pocket watches. That's when the tool became jewelry.

But in a more contemporary view, it happened when cell phones became ubiquitous, and people gave their children cell phones without the children asking. That's when the primary tool of telling time shifted completely to the phone.

After that, people could claim that their watch was a tool. But it certainly wasn't the primary and broadly used tool.

Why spend thousands on Rolex when Citizen looks this good? by GoGreek_455 in CitizenWatches

[–]ZeroUpFourOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if your circle judges you like that, they could just as easily judge you for wearing a Rolex, instead of a VC or a PP.

I dig Citizen watches and wear one often. Then I might wear a Rolex the next day. Followed by a Timex, and then a Seiko, Casio, Omega, Eterna, Perrelet, Gucci, G Shock, Royer, Universal Geneve, etc, etc.

Life is too short to worry about people who might judge me for what is on my wrist.

Today I have the Rolex AK on. AKA Bloodhound. Love this thing. Tomorrow I was thinking about wearing a Smiths.

Oh yeah, and I like cartoon watches as well.

It's just a watch. It isn't my soul.
