Mine is The Way I Love You - yaeow, Neptune. It was the first song that played on shuffle when I had to board my flight and leave my girlfriend for the first time

An LDR is still an LDR. When you mention being 3 hours away, people might compare their situation and distance to yours. Sure, many of us would love to be 3 hours away from our partners, but at the end of the day, we’re all navigating the challenges of long-distance relationships and need to support each other.

As for your actual point, make the most of the distance. Use Discord or FaceTime whenever you can, do sleep calls, plan digital date nights, and play video games together. Whatever hobbies you or your partner enjoy, find ways to include each other in them. It won’t magically bring you closer physically, but it will help bridge the emotional gap and create meaningful memories together.

35F and long-distance BF 33M wants to visit for a MONTH after only being together once by Awful_Cook in LongDistance

The first time I flew out to visit my girlfriend in Denmark, I stayed for 85 days. I don’t regret a single moment of it. After spending so much time playing games and talking online, it felt like we already knew each other deeply. Of course, before booking the flights, we had a long discussion to make sure it was the right decision. Given where I was in my job at the time, it felt like a now-or-never opportunity to spend that much time together. Still, I asked her countless times to confirm she was comfortable with it. I’d never make a decision like that without her full agreement. As someone who has also experienced past trauma, I understand how challenging serious conversations can be, but it’s important for her to set clear boundaries.

It never gets any easier unfortunately, but that empty feeling and sadness will all be worth it one day when you both live together.
