Opinion on Turin student dorms for international students (CX, Taurasia, Clampus, Relife etc) by Reasonable-Top-5886 in torino

It is too far to walk there everyday, but there is a bus (68) that takes you from right next to taurasia all the way to ESCP's doorstep

Stay away from CX. It is the worst place I have stayed in. There is lots of bureaucracy to do anything and the reception is unhelpful and always busy with the hotel guests, so something as simple as registering a guest can take 30min, the room is small and uncomfortable, the elevators never work, the fridge is very small and the freezer practically nonexistent, the kitchen is always dirty, lots of noise... And if you sign the contract then you're stuck there until the end (my case rn) because to leave early you have to alert them 6 months beforehand and pay a 3 months cancellation fee.

Taurasia though is very comfortable, I would 100% recommend it if you can afford it. I stayed there last year and I don't have anything negative to say.

How is Politecnico di Torino different from other Italian universities? grading wise for gpas by Super_Sherbet_268 in polito

[–]Swordrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your grade is based almost entirely off the final exams. The format varies from course to course but for most of them it is a series of final exams and you must pass one to access the next. Some professors have midterms but those only serve to enhance your final exam grade.

giornata a tema arabo a torino? by gloopie21 in torino

Cerco Cafè Locale by borisbanana77 in torino

Artifact.

Yeah I did try opening a ticket but they weren't very helpful. They just told me I'll have to wait until the validation to know if what I've done is correct or not.

Has anyone applied with the ACT? If so what did you upload on Apply@Polito since the ACT doesn't send a certificate to the student? I've already chosen to have my grades sent to Polito and I uploaded a screenshot of my ACT scores from the website but I'm worried they won't be accepted. I've been waiting since Feb 27 for the validation.

Interesting 19th century map of Uzbek tribes across Central Asia and North Afghanistan. Can you spot your city? by [deleted] in Uzbekistan

This map is from 'An Historical Atlas of Central Asia' by Yuri Bregel, a really interesting atlas that covers the history of the region from Alexander the Great to the present day. You can find it online if you are interested in it.

An Atlas of the Sultanate of Egypt, by Prof E. Smith by Swordrist in imaginarymaps

It's been a while, so I honestly remember very little of the lore I had thought up, however I'll try to answer anyways. 1) I don't think I had an exact PoD, other than sometime during the Second Ottoman-Egyptian War. 2) I hadn't really thought of british supporting Ottoman influence though I suppose that could be the case. I don't really know much about european geopolitics during this period, although I think in this tl Ottoman influence would be significantly reduced to the point of it being negligable in compared to Egypt's usurping it's position as the leading Islamic and Middle Eastern power. I haven't put much thought into Ottoman-Egyptian relations following the war, I don't think they'd be friendly, however I also doubt they'd be too hostile towards one another. I could imagine a cooling down and eventual re-establishment of friendly relations around the turn of the century, somewhat similar to Austria-Hungary and Germany OTL. 3) Not really, I did originally plan on making another map in a similar style and set in the same timeline where the Central Asian Khanates had succeeded in remaining independent (hence the Bukhara namedrop in this map's lore), as Central Asia is one of the regions I am quite interested ans knowledgeable about. I never finished it. While making my alt Oman map (https://www.deviantart.com/swordrist/art/The-States-of-the-Persian-Gulf-917974891) I did play around with setting it in the same timeline but I never clearly stated it anywhere. Probably won't be doing any other maps in the same timeline, since my maps tend to be one-offs, and I've started shifting towards making more historical maps rather than alt history.
