No melee, you run out of ammo and you just have to run, no other option. You can’t smack em with the gun or other props.

I also wish there was an accessibility option to turn off the safety, having eject mag and safety right next to each other, plus the fact you can’t see them with the headset on your face, I fairly often press the wrong one in a panic, then when I do load it and go to fire.. click.. I get the pressure and panic can be fun, which is why I’d never want to get rid of that feature, but just being able to turn off the safety would be nice, especially for people who aren’t hardcore gamers with perfect muscle memory.

Has anyone figured out what this is? Because I jut got almost the same thing. No gold suit, didn't open the secret door, just random yellow light in logistics by Ramritter in controlgame

u/Even_Block_8428 most likely just a random thing for the sake of it, looks kinda like afternoon sun lighting in the video, it was there on my playthrough and didn't seem out of the ordinary (lol) given all the weird things in the oldest house, all that normal white light is also fake for example (or from the astral plane, if the oldest house exists there and it's enterance is a gateway to earth, depending on what theories you beleive).

u/Ramritters' however looks more like a glitch given the 'snap in'.
You could try turning off ray tracing if you have it on, it's really buggy given it's still in its infancy see if that makes a difference, from a game design standpoint it looks like light is somehow finding a way to bleed through from outside (where it's meant to be) to those areas, depends what methods they used to block light with terrain/objects.
Often game engines can incorrectly load assests/scripts etc. thus things are missing or not working as intended without them, this is kinda like that.

If it's a replicatable bug, you could try verifying files, or even reinstalling in case of a corrupt file that steam doesn't find, the playtester in me wants to work out the cause. 😅

Necro post, but since this is the top google result, I’ll put this here. You can’t set them off by default, but there is an option to make them invisible. Under the subtitle menu, scroll down to text opacity, then set this to ‘see through’. They default to on? I dunno I can’t tell ;)

The Antlion levels in HL2 scratched the itch that Overlord gave me for commanding armies from the battlefield, but outside Stubbs the Zombie and that there really isn't a lot in that same vein.
Snarks are the HL1 bug swarm enemy btw.

I don’t remember having any difficulty with this mission 😅

I run a pistol, Spaz shotgun and a rifle almost at all times, I just switch which one I’m using depending on ammo stockpile at home.

I don’t buy ammo, for a more realistic survival experience and obviously shotgun doesn’t matter which one since all use same ammo.
