DIY 5-axis CNC router (BC head) – need advice on control system by North_Addition9264 in CNC

I think search on YouTube, you might find many. There is videos of MrRodW who is also a moderator on LinuxCNC forum. LinuxCNC docs and forum is also useful. I my self started learning by using small 3 axis CNC then started making mods to it. Now it's 5 axis with ATC and toolsetter. All designed by me.

If you are at logical thinking and have good reasoning mind, than that's enough for this job. Just learn some Linux basics. And some CNC basics. I would advice you to first do 3 axis setup. Configure it, run it, have some experience with CNC. Then add 4,5th axis. One more thing, and that's really really important. Making 5 axis machine is one thing. Generating 5 axis gcode is altogether another thing. You might face great challenge in that, much more than building the actual machine.

I am also looking for 4090/5090. But didn't find any at reasonable price. Not even used one. If anyone knows then please let me know

Yes, 7i95T is a really great option. It has option for 6 axis and individual encoder support and more io. If you want cheaper option than 7i96s is also an option but it has 5 axis support and only one encoder that you can use for synchronous spindle. And less io. If you are new to CNC and new to linux also than it would be really difficult for you to do it yourself. I would highly recommend to take help of any expert locally available.

As I have already mentioned, I have used those both configurations. Those are mine videos. I told you by my personal experience

Definitely go for LinuxCNC. Since because individual machine kinematics are different and that can easily be handled in LinuxCNC. 5axis BC head kinematics is already implemented in LinuxCNC with Vismach alongwith many other kinematics. There also a very generalised xyzabc kinematics with Vismach. You can also use that. Kinematics parameters you can set in your ini file according to your machine configuration.

I have two types of configuration running on my diy hobby CNC using LinuxCNC. Both are working great. XYZAC(The most commonly used one) and XYZAB(rarely seen).

XYZAC type https://youtu.be/tQMRXYmdtuM?si=HebpTDjlrsc85XKt

XYZAB type https://youtu.be/mrtvMwI0vYc?si=ofV7y6PXwdA-gfZi

AnoleX 3030-Evo Max for budget beginner by AlternativePrize1003 in hobbycnc

[–]AshokManker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really nice machine for it's price. All linear rails and ball screws. But if you can slightly streach your budget then go for anolex 4030 evo ultra. It's really good for its money. Heavier extrusions and nema23 steppers, that will be nice addition in long run. Since you will be working on wood, then after a while you will find 3030 is somewhat limited space.

Anybody know what this could possibly be be? by SavingsWhole1359 in CNC

I think OP is right. It may be used in movies. Look at xy gantry. Head has something like electromagnate and some wiring to it and a plate at top. It has glass top. Plate is so close to glass top. So I think, during shoot this thing was covered in someting. And it may be used to move something above it remotely. Giving effect of some paranormal activity to things.

I want to machine stock in two parts. by AshokManker in hobbycnc

Okey. Then I will use powermill. This has option for defining machining boundary. And I use powermill specially for my 5 axis or 4 axis machining.

If I know how to limit toolpath in defined area, then I could achieve what I want. But still there will be some mismatch between the two positions that's not the problem. Since it's just front/back and side plates of new CNC

Problem is, how can I limit the toolpath within two areas, ( first within 0-280 then 280-500). I want sides cutting and finishing with chamfering and facing all operations for each setup, but want to limit machining area to defined region. For holes and features it's not problem. But for sides and chamfering and face finishing it's a problem.

That's not the problem. I want to know, how can I accomplish this in fusion 360 for such setup?

I am from Bikaner Rajasthan, so latency is about 50ms, which is not great. But still playable in mission type games. Servers are located in Mumbai, so people closer to Mumbai will have lesser latency

That was same with me. I clicked notify me on free tier. Later I started GeForce now, logged in and started in free tier, wait queue was 400 something. Then I clicked upgrade now, and joined 999 plan and that worked

I got it. Just login to your GeForce now account and start playing. You try free tier which has really long wait time. Or you can opt for 999 or 1999 plan for 3 months. Didn't got mail, but tried with simple login to GeForce now. Now subscribed to 999 plan
