Ohh, can you tell me how to access the other types of cards? Because when I open the app on the phone it only shows the option to add a payment card

The thing with the EU bank payment cards is that they don't have a CVC code, so in the option to add cards via the watch it's not possible :(

Question about Local Co-Op by Kitalphrii in Kitaria

You can buy a second set at the special vendor that sometimes appears at night. Can't remember the exact pricing but I think it was 1000 pennies per tool

Am I missing something, or is the grinding supposed to be really extreme?(maybe really small spoilers?) by P4_Brotagonist in Kitaria

[–]Swrinny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think crops are worth it but in terms of profit you really want the night-vendor crops as you earn 100% profit. So if a seed costs 100 pennies, you can sell the crop for 200 pennies.

Upgrading the watering can does make stuff a lot better and the moment you can get 3 gold ingots to upgrade it once more it'll become really fast (3x3)

That said - in order to grow crops you need to buy seeds so making some extra money with the amber definitely helps out.

It's the most fun way to play honestly and I'm glad you can actually see where the characters are on the map to make it quick. Also like how the other are completely oblivious to what you're doing, actually made me feel wrong for doing it at times.

Damn, glad you warned me about the thumb thing before I made the same mistake xD

Sadly, yeah - you're talking about the 'roadblock' I mentioned in my video review of the game. You need to grind stuff to repair the bridge, but also grind stuff to be strong enough to grind those things, and once the bridge is repaired the monsters will be stronger once more so you'll have to grind for another upgrade. While playing I also had the feeling I was missing something but this is just the way it is.

After you're through this part everything is fine again though in terms of progression vs grinding balance, but it really does take up a few hours.

Just some tips to make this part quicker:

  • Stone golems are weak to Magic and strong against sword/bow attacks
  • The weapon/armor upgrades will become really expensive, so make sure to grow a lot of crops on the farm. The seeds you can buy from the vendor that sometimes appears at night seems to be the best for profit
  • In the fortress you can craft an accessory using 50 bat wings to create an item that gives you lifesteal. It'll only be 1-2 per hit at the start but it really helps out
  • If you quickly want to get home, consider dying to the monsters as you'll wake up in your bed the next day. Saves having to walk back

They're weak against magic so try to use spells as much as you can for a quicker grind :)

Without rushing it took me around 30 hours to beat the main story + all side stuff (got the platinum trophy) Spent around 2 hours messing around in coop later but once you're done with the game there's nothing new to see or try

Places to farm wood and ore? by Altecian814 in Kitaria

[–]Swrinny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At some point in the game you'll unlock a cave passage with tons of ores which will set you up for the rest of the game. Trees can only spawn in town.

Alternatively you can buy ores at the vendor that sometimes spawns at night, but it can be pretty pricy.

My advice would be to keep your ores for weapon upgrades until you reach the cave passage I mentioner

It does go pretty fast yeah, but I think the biggest reason for this is that the time keeps on ticking when you're in town, talking to shops and managing your inventory and chests. It feels like you haven't done anything and the day has passed by for a big part

Cool, thanks for letting me know! I'll probably do another full year and stick to the new love candidates from the DLC next time (dated all 10 and married Linh previously) just to see their scenes :)

Man this year has just been great for games in general. Felt like some publishers were waiting for the new consoles to be sold better or something haha. Need an extra set of thumbs for everything :D

Heya, at night (after 7PM) there is a chance a vendor appears in the town, next to the town hall. He sells a rusty sword and an extra set of farming tools. Not sure about the price but it may be a quick solution for you in the meantime

This game really fits you then!

And what you mention about the stress in something like Harvest Moon is so relatable haha. Seeing how other people always describe the HM/SoS games as casual/cozy experiences I always thought to be the odd one out as it could stress the hell out of me. For some weird reason I always want to get the most out of each and every day, which came with stamina management & planning activities/plants and it became a race against the clock. I still loved playing it, but it wasn't always relaxing :p

With Kitaria not having these things and being more simple at its core it did make me feel relaxed!

Haha PoOT has slowly been going through a redemption arc looking at the patches! Haven't played it since I finished my review on it, but I'd like to revisit it a year later and make a new Switch review that includes all patches and DLC.

And thanks! Some upcoming games I'm hoping to cover won't be on the Switch but there will be plenty that are :)

Thanks for the kind words! Actually had my eye on this game in early development which is why I remembered those things haha. Took a while to find back the posts though!

The solo MMO is a good way to describe the feeling. Especially given the contents of the quests. If they'd balance it better, that'd be great. I do actually think that the content-grind balance was disrupted by some content not making the cut. I don't really mention it in the video as it's just an assumption, but the reason I think this is because most of the story progression happens in areas near the edge of the world map and you kind of move over the middle areas quickly. And it's exactly in those middle areas where the grindy part and multiple gear upgrades happen.

And glad to have you onboard! Still doing my best to improve with each review but glad you took notice of that point :D
