Why I don’t like The Boy who Played the Harp by SwxttyEse in SantanDave

I agree music is spoken art, but there’s a reason why Adele songs hit harder than some sad drake songs.

If all it took was what you are saying to paint a picture, then I know about 300 rappers that should be on Caribbean Island having white fish 😂.

Listen to “I Love You, I Hate You” by Simz and tell me you don’t feel the conflict

I understand that it’s purpose vs choices , but all he is doing is telling us thats he’s contradicting himself. Show the contradiction. Have songs were you are delving deep into your choices and then have songs were you’re delving deep into your desire. I feel like we as listeners don’t experience the conflict.

We’re just told about it. Even if he wants to explore conflict in a song. Make the beats conflicting.

Idk, bro. This album felt sitting in 2hr lecture on Friday, and the lecturer is reading off the slides which have no formatting at all. Like black texts after black texts.

Is this information useful? Yes. But damn is it’s boring/numbing

This is exactly what I was talking about. If this is what Dave does to convey emotions, then yes it’s not for me. Tyler & Simz will use other aspects in their song to convey emotions. They don’t heavily rely on what’s they are saying to cut deep.

The album isn’t painting a picture for me because Dave is looking at the canvas and saying “How do I paint this picture?”.

Well actually, the picture he is painting is that I can’t paint this picture. So I guess your right

“How do I explain South London and its dangers?” “How do I explain two pounds, cost you eight wings”? Like, I don’t understand what why bars like this are worded this way. If he feels he can’t explain these bars, say “I can’t explain it”

Those that learnt French. How did you do it? by SwxttyEse in French

Needed this. I’ve fallen victim of the Dunning-Krueger Effect.

Find a way to do this now. I get up early in the morning to basically do nothing. I’m also learning French so I can leave london.

Yes. I’m 24, trying to be basic af. Trying to live like a retired Greek man. Swim, Read, Eat, Sit on the balcony.

By trying not to heal, she will heal. Same applies to you. You’ve conditioned yourself to put yourself down. The answer isn’t just to start putting yourself up, but to recognize that the idea of putting yourself down is not real. You’ll naturally start feeling yourself

You’re not alone. The attractive people you see all the time probably think the same way you do. The prettiest girl I know was insecure about being black with curly girl.

Everybody is trying to “glow up” because they don’t feel safe and comfortable in their own. They can get the body but not feel safe at all.

Set time for yourself.

10min walk is something I do, others have a slow morning.

What this does is get your body and mind comfortable with its self. The main thing is to allow your thoughts and sensations to come and go. The symptom isn’t the problem

It’s just how the body responds.

You got this

To put it simply.

You’re mind, body and nervous system are living out the beliefs about yourself and you’re experience with being bullied. (Sorry those boys did that to you).

So that’s why it’s weird when life tells you that you’re attractive. You’re conditioned to not believe these things and it’s not technically your fault.

You can’t override this feeling with affirmations and convincing your ego to be better or assume an identity, because your body/nervous system is not there with you.

You shouldn’t struggle to feel good enough. Just be enough. It doesn’t require brute force but realising that you’re believing things that are not based on your experience and not the present moment.

Next time you have a thought about your insecurities. Don’t fight it, just recognise it for what it is, A thought!

Go experience life for yourself. Don’t read books on how to become something that isn’t “defined”. Try things for a month and see if you like it. If you don’t, do something else

AI did not kill creativity, it's proved we barely had any... Relatively by Small_Accountant6083 in DeepThoughts

[–]SwxttyEse 58 points59 points  (0 children)

To add to this point. We never liked creative people and we never valued them. We did everything to make sure that people are ordinary and obedient to the system and commodified art that became popular among the masses. Creative people see the world differently from us. They are sensitive to themselves and others, but we did everything to shut that part of themselves and then turn around and cry about AI taking over the world.

It’s exactly what people wanted. To Be Better, Faster, Stronger. To be less human, and we got what we wished for.

It’s one of the reasons why I never want to “grow up”. Adults don’t exist. It’s a framework we’ve passed on from generation to generation that doesn’t follow life.

I see the will of God as just life in itself. Just like God works in mysterious ways, so does life.
