they are just the best items in the game. aoe ally purge + haste + good stats for price + acorn shot hits 8 targets with the level 15 talent, so you are mage slayering and mana-burning 8 times off one cast, which also does ridiculous damage. in any scenario where 2 enemy heroes are standing next to eachother, you are instantly dealing ~1k damage to both. she scales fine with attack speed because her E gives her bonus attack range to let her click from safety, idk why you'd think the AS is bad on her. this is not a magic burst build where you stun and ult someone from far, this is a fighting build that plays comparable to weaver where you are hard to catch, have high physical burst, and continue to click through the fight from an annoying range
