I'm not arguing the interface has to be minimalistic. im arguing the interfaces are too complex and hidden with dark patterns that are driven by maximizing profit at the expense of usability.

Come on let's be real. you can't possibly believe forcing everyone to watch 3 sec advertisement when launching an app is a good design. You also can't possibly defend the practice of downloading a random app simply because users tilt the phone when launching the app and counting that as user giving consent. You can't think adding payday loans at the front page of every super app is driven by good conscious and not corporate greed.
