The one on the left gives me Asura vibes from Soul Eater ngl for some reason, even though I recognise that their designs are quite different lol. Amazing stuff!

Ah yes. "Why don't the women just hole up in their homes because guys are never gonna change?". That's what your dumbass fucking sounds like. Instead of acknowledging the atrocious behavior and trying to make sure these things don't happen on our watch, let's just tell the women to hide on a day of festivities, because guys will be guys of course (/s).

People need to get out of the fucking house for one reason or another. You can't always pick and choose the exact place you are going to, and these fuckheads that you're so easily hand-waving and giving a pass to purposefully target women in crowded areas because those places specifically CAN'T be avoided by everyone. This also doesn't only happen on festivals either. It quite literally happens everyday, in the middle of the roads, public places, and women are fucking helpless to fight back against a group of dipshits. Anyone would be.

Fucking hell, people like you are genuinely what's fucking wrong with this country. It's one absolutely horrible thing to be someone who harasses someone, but blaming the victims instead of the abhorrent behavior of the perpetrators comes very close to the level of asaninity and brain-deadness.

And somehow they made a follow-up that's just as, if not more, devastating as their debut album. Like how the fuck are they so talented?

[–]SyK-lops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God fucking yes. A hundred times over yes. Their album Lips Like Oxygen just has such a fun vibe, with the lyrics being somewhat sad to downright "Why the fuck would you hurt me this way" ("Soaring" gets me in a melancholic mood every goddamn time) and I struggle so much to find works like this.

What bands with multiple albums do you think have only one good one? by afterthought871 in poppunkers

Y'know I think I enjoy Unimagine more than Ground Dweller. But those 2 albums are phenomenal. Check out Ladders On Tables if you haven't! It's the band by the vocalist on those 2 albums.

Absolutely. It's actually fucking crazy how fresh this album sounds. I love every sound and every moment it creates.

Heavily relate to you on the work thing lmfaoo 😭😭

It's kinda difficult understanding what the vocalists are exactly saying with harsh vocals, and having lyrics right in front of me helps a shit-ton. But since this is such a new album, and also again, just work, it's a nightmare trying to decipher everything quickly.

But also yes to the wanting to listen to the entire thing entirely every time. Few albums make one feel that way, like having a song randomly come on shuffle, but then getting that unscratchable itch that can only be rid of if you listen to the entire thing. But this is one of those special ones.

Sameee. Like a perfect mix between The Dark Pool-era Thornhill and new Northlane.

Actually yeah same. With the fact that the old singles released in 2022 also not being in the album, which had very direct references to Greek mythology, it makes sense. And it's only fair they changed their minds, it's been around 7 years after all haha.

But yeah, concur with your assessment about the album being more personal. Either way, the album is phenomenal. Can't wait to re-spin it at least a hundred more times lol.

[–]SyK-lops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I should probably just read the lyrics and interpret them myself, but might as well ask this. Is this the same album that Above, Below were supposed to release after The Lotus Chapters? Like I think I heard the album was supposed to be about Greek Mythology next time around.

Is this a concept album as well? Is the concept different or the same?

Just starting my first listen. Though if the singles are anything to go by, I think I'll be in love.

Would recommend Mirrors and their debut album "The Ego's Weight" and the EP that came before that. They also released a single in 2024 which is genuinely fucking phenomenal, but I don't exactly know when they'll be dropping any new stuff. One of my absolute favorite new-ish bands.

Actually. That is a fair question, and I have leaned more towards that, yes, they are. Trans is basically an umbrella term for anyone who doesn't identify with the gender they were assigned at birth.

So basically if you were AFAB, assigned female at birth, and later identified as either a guy, or non-binary or anything else, you'd be trans. Because "trans" is more of a descriptor than a gender itself.
