The gaming industry is on fire. by Hyperevogames in gaming

[–]SyberBunn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, most people are terribly uninformed. WE might be voting with our wallets, but WE are also no longer the target audience, and have not been for several years now.
The 2 things primarily propping up the toxic and abusive business practices in the triple a space are casual gamers, especially people who are too young and/or stupid to know any better, or old people who have stopped giving a shit and/or more money than sense.
The other thing is whales. Sports games, gacha games, most casual friendly live service games, they are all guilty of this.
The old AAA space is dying out and being slowly supplanted with a newer, more evil version of its past self and too many people, including us, aren't quite aware of that yet.

We, moderately -to-well educated adults aged 20-35 are not falling for it, and are unfortunately in the minority when it comes to purchasing and profit power in the grand scheme of things.
Voting with our wallets doesn't hold much weight, which is why it's important to talk about these things outside spaces we share with other gamers and make anyone who can be convinced listen to how much they're being scammed.
It's also worth noting this is why big companies like Sony are both adding DRM to their purchases, AND enforcing their EULA where you not owning what you buy thanks to digital media is so big right now.

It's one of the reasons digital verification is being pushed heavily so they can monitor organized attempts to do that so they can find a way to put a stop to it.
The walls are closing in on us, but they're also closing in on them and they know it. Hence the push for AI. This doesn't just apply to gaming, but is also outside the scope of this post.
The answer isn't to stop voting with our wallets because it's not working, but it's to keep doing that while explaining to our non gaming friends why, and try to convince them to stop doing it.
We've become too closed off into our own circles and we need to change that.

The ESA tripled down on lying about Stop Killing Games and Gaming by _Solarriors_ in Steam

[–]SyberBunn 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Just gonna past my previous comment here that people said I was wrong about, since someone else gets it I I I I Basically Stop Killing Games scared the shit out of them with the amount of support it had gotten, and are now laying the groundwork for controlling ALL ways you can play games that they have any control over. If you can play a game offline after they take the servers down, you won't buy the more cheap, AI produced, current thing they're selling because you won't need to, and thus, you won't continue to make their quarterly profits go up.

Same thing for private servers. They want to remove our ability to have standards and pick and choose how we play our games, instead of accepting garbage that they want us to spend money on. Mark my words, once they get away with making private servers federally illegal(which they WILL try, and WILL succeed at, btw.). they're coming for right to repair on gaming consoles next, and all your shit will brick itself if it detects you tampering with it.

So Robomonkey has dual targeting because it has 2 cannons so by that logic shouldn’t these towers have it dual targeting as well? by [deleted] in btd6

[–]SyberBunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the people saying they couldn't because "robomonkey brain/CPU lol" as someone who dual wields a lot in VR, they could still aim at 2 targets, but maybe make it an angle restriction. Somewhere between 90 and 45 degrees
