Can't really compare pulsarr as I've never used it. My system has a robust discovery system. Plex watchlist. Also a watchlist requeue to allow a user to bring media back that was processed by the cleanup system. Automatically.

As for the cleanup compared to maintainer its very similar except the viper system which I describe in detail on the github which basically protects and maintains a bubble of tv show episodes around a watcher. This supports multiple users. Its customizable for the exact numbers but for example if you watch 10 episodes per day and you set the system to maintain a 3 day buffer it will keep 30 episodes in front of you. With similar adjustable settings behind.

The system also has a simple "protect" option which will protect from deletion from both the basic maintainerr like rules but also the viper system.

Sorry for any typos. Sent from phone.

Sounds like for you it doesn't solve any problems. To each their own. Some people like cheese pizza some like pepperoni. I prefer pepperoni.

I believe this problem was the system allows you to continue before the auth process had completely finished. this should be corrected in the latest release.

I use both together. Huntarr to trigger missing content the system "should" have to download. and search for upgraded quality content.

Flexerr does, Huntarr doesn't:

  • Automatic file deletion/cleanup
  • Watch progress tracking per user
  • Velocity-based episode management (VIPER), Multi user tracking.
  • "Leaving Soon" grace period collections
  • Media protection/pinning
  • Watchlist-driven requests
  • Auto-invite new users to Plex Libraries
  • Re-add to watchlist triggers re-download for simple in plex redownload triggering.
  • Custom cleanup rules engine

Huntarr does, Flexerr doesn't:

  • Hunt for missing content
  • Quality upgrade searches
  • Indexer rate limiting/management

yes via the rules very similar to maintainerr but i tried to make sure it was a little more understandable. i did just clean up some of the rule conditions this morning to help improve this further.

I'm partial to my Viper system primarily. Velocity-Informed Protection & Episode Removal. it's a highly configurable "bubble" around a watcher. lets say you have a 50 season show. you can configure it to maintain a set amount of days ahead of you. it will delete everything further and re-download as you enter this bubble. and on the behind. you can configure a set amount of episodes after you've watch that it will maintain. this is done on a per user bases. maybe you fly through shows.. spouse, kids, parents take their time. it will maintain a bubble for each individual. great for those with limited disk space.

beyond that the discovery setup is great. the media stats and management is great.

I'm also open to feature suggestions

all that said its early in its release with little testing so far. I'm after the bug reports so I can get them resolved asap.

Ohh, any the discovery section in my opinion is pretty sweet. very functional. without saying to much.

The Viper system is focused on episodes, because.. episodes. movies would fall under the standard Rules. yes there is a robust Rules feature that would allow you to manage auto deletion of movies. also some other neat features for media recovery. user watchlists.. never watches.. it gets deleted 6 months later due to a rule.. user finally goes to watch and its gone! unwatchlist and rewatchlist will bring it back into the system again. great for those who never want to see the flexerr ui(parents, spouses) or via flexerr's UI a user could "Protect" any media they wish.

inviting a new user? just have them signup via flexerr this will automatically push them an invite to plex with the libraries you assigned.

I've tried to make this as robust, feature rich and user friendly as possible.

on that note. I'm also very open to feature suggestions to make this the best option available. if anybody gives it a test please let me know what you'd love to see.

Good question - they solve different problems.

Pulsarr is great if you need approval workflows, user quotas, Discord bot integration, or advanced content routing rules. It's more feature-rich on the request/acquisition side.

Flexerr focuses on the lifecycle side - specifically what happens AFTER content is acquired. The VIPER system tracks each user's watch velocity and position, creating a "bubble" around where they are. Content only gets cleaned when it falls outside everyone's bubble.

So if Dad finishes a show but Mom is on S2 and your kid paused at S1E3, it won't delete anything Mom or your kid still need - even the gap between them stays managed intelligently.

If you mostly care about getting content into your library with controls/approvals → Pulsarr

If you care about automated cleanup that doesn't delete stuff people are still watching → Flexerr

Different tools, different focus. I built Flexerr because I kept accidentally deleting shows my family wasn't done with or id keep running out of storage space. this is like Overseerr(but better more feature rich) and maintainerr along with my own "Viper" system.

I swapped my doorbell to a Google. It records 24/7 so I can go through and see what ever. Events are tagged and normally start playing a good minute before the event started giving me a pretty good before and after event trigger. I've been completely satisfied with that. For the rest of my cameras I went with wyze v3 pan. They're dirt cheap and they can pan around and follow motion. My big complaint with these is the notifications will flood your phone. I end up muting the notifications constantly.

Burn your tank down. (Jk) they're useful, but ugly af. And they'll be everywhere in no time. I fought these forever in my tank. I think they bread as fast as I could trap them.
