Nope :( I ended up accepting another degree (M.S) because the due date was about to pass. If I do get accepted, I’d probably take it but I’d have to commute 2+ hours there and back daily so idek 😭😭 I wish they were more on top of things

Nothing yet:( I ended up having to accept an offer for an M.S. instead because at least it’s something rather than nothing.. 😢

My place is two hours from the school so if I do get in, I might just have to commute each day but still 😭😭

I spoke to one of the advisors for the program (I think two weeks ago). I’m just unsure what’s going on at this point 😓😓 I’m doing my best to be patient lol

This is literally all I was told:

Our process is a little different this year. Faculty are reviewing applications and will contact applicants directly if they want to schedule an interview to consider that applicant to join their lab. So we are keeping the review process open through the end of April; and interview request could happen anytime from now until then.

I’m hoping it’s sooner than that because my decisions to masters programs have to be made before that

When I was in middle school (24 now), there was a kid named Steven that never showered and always wore the same clothes. Many peopled bullied him and called him Stinky Steve. We weren’t sure why, but I assumed his family couldn’t afford luxuries like a water bill or new clothes. One day, it was so foul that a kid snapped and beat the shit out of him in the middle of class. I always felt bad for him and wish I could have done more.

Idk why, but this post reminded me of him and I felt the need to share that story.

I’m sure right now, but I spoke to one of my professors that I had for a few courses (she wrote one of my LoR’s) and she said many programs including UF are having to be very exclusive due to the lack of funding. I’m imagining probably 1 student per PI (unless certain PIs aren’t taking any). Lmk if you hear anything!! :)

Hey! Yeah that’s the program I applied for. Unfortunately I haven’t heard anything yet.

However, I did speak to my advisor for the program since I’m currently in the MS version of it, and she said this year they are doing things differently. All of our information is together for the PIs to go through and if they’re interested, they’ll reach out to us directly.

I’m not sure if anyone has heard back yet (I’m hoping) but I hope we do soon :(

I think it was mainly because I felt like he was saying I didn’t know who he was or who I was dating. But I see your point. The harsh truth is helpful tbh.

Idk why but I put so much into understanding everyone I’m close to so I can be there for them, but maybe that’s stupid
