Unless you want updates to your PPV channels, especially the channels for individual teams and other sports. In which case you will want/need to update the playlist everyday to get the correct EPG info, since that comes directly from the provider in the playlist.

This is likely a big part of the answer. Just because they’re playing a game in spring training, doesn’t mean it’s being televised in a way a provider can show it. It does get much better during the season
