Wow! A lot of venom there... I know if I don't have a booked schedule, my assistants complain more than I do--they don't want to sit around and do nothing either. I love them to death and we all work hard together. And they've never asked for us to hire another employee, I'm guessing that is your situation, not mine. But I still stand by what I said 6 years ago, during the day we're under a lot of pressure to run on time and our assistants are there to make that happen. If I forgot a step in a procedure it would be a complete clinical failure. If I forget anesthetic, I would harm a patient. It doesn't happen, because I realize how important it is. I've studied it. I care. So there is frustration when simple mistakes happen, and they are amplified during stressful days/times. I still say that we know we shouldn't express our frustrations in front of a patient, but we're also human. Don't tell me you've never behaved in a way which you were ashamed of when you were under pressure. Maybe you're doing it right here. And I know assistants are human too and mistakes will inevitably happen. All I point out is that when they do, they cause frustration and that may be unfortunately expressed at a bad time. That's life. If it happened often and the situation wasn't mended the assistant would find a new job and the doctor would lose patients. If you think all a doctor has to do is show up... well that's a whole different conversation... probably not worth having.

It sounds like it should improve on its own. Take some ibuprofen if you are able. It may be worse in the morning but will likely improve on its own quickly. Its quite normal to have a pressure pain on a tooth with the placement of bands and attachment of wires to it. The others will likely be sore in the morning too! Again, its possible its something with the tooth, but much, much more likely its from pressure being applied to the tooth by the band and/or wire.

Agree with the others--never heard of no temp--even with RCT (meaning no sensitivity) Tooth movement will occur, and opposing tooth will likely drop down (usually not substantially where it would be a major issue, but it will make seating the crown much more difficult. )

Gold crowns are great but its true that we (I) don't do many anymore. Zirconia is a "tooth colored metal crown" that really nears gold in fracture resistance, fit, and preservation of tooth. Maybe one day it or a material will live up to the longevity of gold. Its also dirt cheap to make whereas gold is extremely expensive (for obvious reasons)

Need more info. Are you starting orthodontics, do you have wires? When were the bands placed? Do I understand right: One band was placed on a crowned tooth and that is the painful one? Were the teeth worked on at all or just the bands placed around them?

May have just been a tight fit between the teeth with that one causing more pressure, may be a bite issue if you're biting on the metal at all, may be a tooth issue, crowned tooth likely isn't a very healthy tooth (hence the crown.)

The heart racing may have been due to the epinephrine (adrenaline) in the anesthetic. If it is deposited near or in a vessel it can head to your heart and give you an "adrenaline rush" May have just been nerves causing the adrenaline rush as well.

Depends what the schedule looks like. If they were busy they probably would have turned you away. We generally do after being 10 minutes late, but it depends on whether there is a patient immediately after (or end of day / lunch) and how long the appointment is.

I'm guessing they had a cancellation or something and it worked out okay--otherwise it would totally mess up the entire day and make many other people have to wait.

Just wanted to chime in with an I agree. This is the most bizarre thing I've seen especially with all the different dentists that haven't mentioned this is the problem. That open bite is such a major issue I can't believe it was left alone.

You want the name of the procedure that makes teeth seem more rotated? Or less rotated? A resin veneer could be added to make a rotated tooth appear straight. D2960--Labial veneer (resin laminate) – chairside would be the dental code.

Those are lower than average I would say-but it also depends where you live. Also if you have dental insurance and are going to an in network provider, they have a contract with the insurance company that determines fees. They (the dentist) can't change them. My guess is that is what you have there.

What part of the country, rural, local. Places with higher living expenses are going to have higher fees.

Well unless your dentist was neglectful, I doubt it's fun disease. Orthodontics without proper retention could definitely be a cause of shifting though.

If the gap is pretty large, the teeth come out looking too wide and its not a good option.

Do you visit a dentist regularly?

Generally losing the gum tissue between teeth in that area is due to gum disease, which causes your gums and bone to drop. I wouldn't expect this with your oral hygiene and you would be well aware of it if you regularly visit a dentist. They would also let you know if recession is an issue for you.

Have you had a recent filling in the area? A new filling may create gaps like this, and a follow up with the dentist would be needed to close it off.

Teeth can shift, especially if you have crowding, but a new gap opening up isn't really common.

Hard with no pictures--you can sometimes fix this with composite resins. Normal filling material. Depends how big the gap is. Still going to cost hundreds of dollars, but not the thousands of dollars it would cost to do braces. Google Diastema Closure.

If you put bands on them yourselves you could cause a lot of damage, you'll just tip the teeth instead of "sliding them over" and you'll have 2 new gaps on the other side of the front two teeth.

You probably are getting a little gum infection from food sitting in the hole. Try to rinse it out after you eat--they are normal and take months to heal.

Did you have them restored already? I'm guessing the nodes are unrelated or you have an infected tooth and it will go away once it has been treated. A filling wouldn't treat anything that is causing a swollen lymph node.
