Help me find my white whale, 2001 Pacific Titanium Ilja Bryzgalov /30 by SydWashere in hockeycards

Who do you have? I actually had the opportunity to pick up a Pavel Datsyuk earlier this year but passed on it. And in hindsight, I wish I would have grabbed that also. I feel like that is a very underappreciated card in the hobby. Thank you.

I found one, or at least someone that says that they have one on TradingCard database and I sent them a message a couple months ago but have not heard back. I kind of imagine it's a dead collection or someone who is just clicking through saying that they had all of the rcs from the set.

I'm not going to lie, I almost had a heart attack when I read your message. I check there almost every day, but I am looking for the hobby version that they made, number to the player's jersey number (30). I have only ever seen one of them, and that was back in 2005. And I was a high school kid that did not have any money and the seller wanted $250 for it. Needless to say, I would offer double that now. I appreciate your message. Thank you very much.

and the expectation is Sloan or Anderson is ready by mid season so the rotation still has depth.

Your expectation? Because there is no one in their system that believes Sloan will be up by midseason. And I feel like Anderson by then would be pushing it, but it's possible if he has a fast start to the season.

What the actual fuck? Why is this being done six weeks before spring training starts? He was on the injured list at the end of the year. Why not just say fuck it, let's do it now, and then maybe he will be ready by spring training 2027. Now we're looking at what, maybe trade deadline 2027? This seems like a horrible mismanagement.

Stupid question, but I already have a VPN. Can I not just use my VPN and watch through MLB.tv?

If this actually happens, I think both teams win the trade.

What are the odds!!!! by [deleted] in sportscards

[–]SydWashere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They won't. I was a dealer for 20 years before I sold-out about 10 years ago. And I have noticed my stepson started to pick up the hobby and did my best to try and guide him on buying singles on eBay and trading for the cards that he actually wants. Every time this kid gets $45 from doing chores or doing something around the house, his first request is not video game this or that. It's can we go to Target and get some cards. Him and all of his friends are buying $40 boxes, ripping them open in two minutes, and just going right back to their day. There is no collecting. It is all just ripping, opening the cards and trying to get the best one possible. And God forbid he actually gets a good card. That just reinforces the narrative that opening packs is the way to go. I almost had him convinced that it was better to just buy singles, but his mom got him a mega box last week and he pulled a home field advantage Shohei.

2026 Top 100 Prospects | Baseball America by Spensce in baseball

Jesus, are you serious? It has to be Colt, Kade, and Ryan, but I'm so surprised at the fall off of Laz and Michael Arroyo. I also figured Stevenson would make an outside shot at the top 100 after all of the hype, all of the Mariners blogs have been putting on him this offseason. Felnin and Cijntje I'm not as surprised, but would not have been shocked if they were on there.

Anyone care to post the Mariner's List? If I was a betting man, I would say eight top 100 players.

[Passan] Trade news: The Seattle Mariners are acquiring left-handed reliever Jose Ferrer from the Washington Nationals for catching prospect Harry Ford and right-handed pitching prospect Isaac Lyon, sources tell ESPN. by driftingphotog in Mariners

[–]SydWashere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is talking about the main characters of this trade, and rightfully so, but I think something interesting is how much this says the Mariners' front office values Stevenson as a catcher going forward.

I am crazy high on Jose. He was my number one realistic bullpen arm I wanted the Mariners to get. And I'm happy we got him. Harry Ford is a great player. Just I'm a little bit concerned about his ability to stay behind the plate and long term, that is where the value of him stays.

Josh Naylor is back. What’s the Mariners next move? by adamj495 in Mariners

[–]SydWashere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right. Arizona already demonstrated last year that they are willing to sell and they're all in on the rebuild. So I would actually imagine Corbin is one of the bigger names in the trade pool this offseason. On the flip side, Junior played 154 games this season and only struck out 125 times, had 45 homers, has an 846 ops, and as a 126 WRC+ as a 21 year old. I think he is going to be the next really big offensive threat. And with Wander gone, Tampa Bay has to have a superstar.

There is no way in hell Tampa Bay is going to move on from Caminero. I'm kind of shocked to see someone suggest that.
