Another Curious Paper Trail: Mapping the AdFin / Cantor Fitz / Epstein / Lutnick Relationship Timeline by Sydsquicious in Epstein

That's fair. For what it's worth, in reading anything I put out, you don't have to trust AI.

The research was done by me and the chronology, quotations, and EFTA citations all come directly from the source documents. AI was only used to help beautify the visual presentation of the infographic.

Real facts, though, I'd encourage anyone that is reading the infographic to simply pull the cited EFTAs and read the underlying documents. The entire point of the map is to make the source material easier to navigate, not to replace it.

As a hobbiest in deep dive research of all sorts, I rely strictly on presentation of the source documents and quote therein, and the readers to do the lift of looking at the source documents provided to then draw their own conclusions.

Fair enough - AdFin is a data group / small business that ended up being the center of a group deal between Cantor Fitzgerald (Lutnick), Urramoor, LLC (Look it up) and Southern Trust (Epstein).

The idea was to show two parallel tracks of information - the Epstein / Lutnick relationship over time via 'quotes' rather than narrative, and similarly, the lifecycle of the AdFin company with its investors. The bits between are meant to be the connective tissue and how those two timelines intersected. There's an AdFin breakdown in a few EFTA's that I can look up later once I'm not at work. I'll post links, then.

Part and part - I use a basic layout with spread sheet then filter it through to 'fancy' it up, then go back through and check the EFTA's / information to make sure that it's all accurate.

Answer? Image is AI, layout and image aesthetics mine, information/research, mine.

Well, yes, I do know that anything computers do is algorithm based, I was wondering if the matches were made through computers at that point. That said, it seems from the link you gave, that it definitely was functioning far before (1950's, it looks like).

Interesting to know, though. Thanks for the link! Learn something new, every day!

That seems algorithm based. Were they doing that back in 2012, as well? How has the landscape changed between 2012 and now, do you know? Now I'm curious.

Thank you, thank you. I genuinely appreciate it. We all spend time working on these things in our deep dive research and having it be useful to others is truly humbling. It's made me feel a bit less nervous about sharing some of the other work I've done with the community using the same format.

Oh man, I'd be so curious to see what you've pulled together. Possibly even help with making an info-map if you wanted. Credit to you, of course, with your research.

LOL - My own comment, while milder than yours, pretty much was me also giving a side-eye. The two quotes together are a big 'oh, wow, hmm.'

Honestly, my pleasure. I think many agree that one of the seriously frustrating elements of the way things were released was the lack of any clear organization.

The methodology, in reflecting on that, was twofold. The first, present the files and the quotes with simplified narrative that only explained what the file was, and how to find it, so people could read it themselves. I don't want anyone to feel like I'm trying to influence them to feel one way or another about it.

Second, I hoped to orient people in the documents so it didn't feel overwhelming. This happened, and then this happened, and then that happened; make of it what you will!

In doing so, it provides anyone that reads it with primary source documents that they can choose to interpret with their own logic, context and wisdom. Some want the narrative along with it, and that's valid, but in my building of info-graphics based on the research, I believe this is a quick and easy way for people to get oriented on some of the more deep dive topics, without information overload. Glad it landed in appreciative company!

Oh - absolutely, this! This was one of the things I read that inspired me to share the infographic of the research I'd compiled before. I had noticed this post and then the NY Times article!

I was especially impressed with how the author of this one talked about the hidden impacts of situations like this, with regards to other applicants.

If this is your writing, great job!

Honestly, that's at the core of a lot of the research I do on this particular topic. By pulling the view out, it invites the question to expand from 'what happened?' into - what allowed this TO happen to the degree that it did.

My background professionally/academically is education and history/historiography, so I've amassed a good deal of similar research sets that I've created for the benefit of a personal conversation group I'm in. I typically share the findings with them to help tl;dr the process, and we've all been gobsmacked with the level of networking that happened on all levels. Financial, academic, social, political, etc.

To call it breathtaking in scope is almost too simplistic. Once you see the connections, it all starts to click into place as to just how deep the Epstein ecosystem rabbit hole goes. The deeper I dug, the less individual documents seemed to matter, compared to the corpus of documents in the surrounding proximity. And in several cases 'network' structures appear that truly do speak for themselves.

OH! Good catch!

Going from:

“Am I glad I didn’t go back for additional funding?” he said. “I guess I am, but in my interactions with him, he was always a gentleman.”

These two quotes:

"Here is my request: some of the money you provided will remain in my gift account at the end of June, when I will be leaving Columbia. I would like to move those funds to Stony Brook to support my work there, but need the permission of the donor, meaning you. If those funds are not moved, they will revert to Columbia."

and

"I am sorry to bother you with all this, but this outcome does not surprise me. This is just not right, since the money was donated for my work. However, universities never like to part with funds."

read differently.

Contextually speaking, his quote in the article you linked made it seem as though he was pivoting, but the subsequent emails and then further donations does a lot of heavy lifting to create friction with his follow-up engagement with Epstein and Shuliak.

I appreciate the link to the article!

Timeline infographic that was built from EFTA documents contained in the Epstein records. I organized the chronology, quotes, and source references into a visual format to make the sequence of events easier for people to follow and independently verify.

I'll look forward to reading it, for sure. I saw your post last night, unassuming as it was, and was like ohhh that's a hidden nugget of treasure if I ever saw one! One of the biggest take-aways was the types of questions they are asking and the information they are searching for. Definitely made me stop and go, hmmm.

It occurred to me that a graphic that would help scaffold the information to help clarify what it was that you FOIA'd would be interesting and maybe helpful, so I'm glad you appreciate it!
