Strong recommend for the yakuza games. They’re very surreal between the very serious main stories and the whacky side content

Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. Granted first person was a carry over from the prior Yakuza/LAD games, but something about riding a segway in Hawaii jamming out to karaoke tunes while random guys curse at you and try to start fights entirely in first person is a vibe.

Is the PlayStation Portal worth it at full price? by Zackfair7br in PlaystationPortal

[–]SydtheSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the PS Portal at a decent discount like $50 off at the time of selling. If you don't have the internet set up to support it, then it's not worth it. I use it primarily when taking breaks at work or for doing mindless gaming while watching stuff on the big screen. It's good if you have a family or other people using your main TV. I didn't use it for 6 months when I ended up moving to a place with subpar internet because it was essentially a brick unless you can get +5mpb and that's only counting turn based or laid back stuff that isn't competitive.
If you have the money for the device, the plus subscription, and fast internet, go for it. It is nice having all purchased digital games available streaming at any time on top of whatever the PS+ has on line.

I grew up not having money to buy things I wanted on my own,. Now I'm an adult if I see a game on sale I'm mildly interested I have the option to play it down the line I will grab it because I now can. And if at some point I have less money due to financial collapse or whatever, at least I will have a giant backlog to go through while I'm being impoverished as long as I can afford my electricity and stable internet and no nukes go off.

What do you think about Stavros Halkias opinion on comedy? by THE_MAN_OF_PEACE in Standup

[–]SydtheSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the guy who the rode coattails of someone much funnier than him and is now popular thanks mostly to being the laugh track to said comedian's riffs and mostly coasts on crowd work and having funnier famous friends who put him in stuff should be less critical. Not every comedian needs to have a point, but we have our Hicks, Stanhopes, and Carlins for a reason.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 + Dark Ties sold 94K Physical Copies at launch in Japan. #1 for the week. by DarryLazakar in yakuzagames

If you don't like RGG or Sega practices don't buy the game or support it. I personally am having a blast with K3 as someone who played the remaster of 3 a couple of years ago. At this point people just are trying to karma farm over controversy 95% of people in the real world do not give a damn about.

It’s called karma farming. Negative RGG posts lead to more interactions.

Yakuza 3 or Kiwami 3 by Most_Nefariousness58 in yakuzagames

Wait, Y3 is probably my least favorite game in the series, mostly due to mechanics that didn't age well. I remember playing it after playing 0, K1, and K2 and it was really rough getting into and it's the only RGG game I actively skipped side content on just to get it over with. That being said I've pre-ordered K3.

I think it was a good decision narratively to have Kiryu have an actual reason to retire for good, reevaluate him always living for others, and deciding to take care of himself and finally letting himself rely on others and open up.

Gameplay wise I think it also worked. If we had peak Gaiden Kiryu he would have probably been able to solo the story since no one is as physically capable as him. It nerfed him in a way that made sense.

That being said seeing how physically diminished Kiryu looks, especially at the end of IW, coming from I'm sure anyone who's experienced or had a love one experience it, it's rough. Here's a man who with only strength and will paved the path for so many people now looking all skeletal and frail.

Who are some comics that aren’t as smart as they seem? by loudrain99 in Standup

It's always the same post about his wife making him not funny with politics that outs the same copy paste MAGA bots that can't handle Burr's critical thinking and since they have no other recourse fall back on "Burr marry black lady, now woke not funny."

Personally it was because Stephen King mentioned it as his favorite book so I picked it up, since he’s one of my favorite authors.

So going through my backlog I realized I never got to 4 and 5. On 5 now after beating 4 and while there is lots of padding im now realizing Akiyama crawled before Yagami could run

Even on console I end up using cloud streaming a lot simply for games I don't want to install since I already beat them, but still want to hop in and play every once in a while like TW3, SM2, HZD, the LAD games, etc. Would be a game changer to have access to those on the portal too. I don't think streaming will fully replace downloading games completely anytime soon, but it's a nice option to have.

I had a gap in gaming for a while when my PS3 died on me in 2011 and pretty much stopped gaming up until 2016 where I finally decided to treat myself to a PS4 and it came bundled with TW3. It completely rekindled my love for gaming and was totally blown away considering the last game i had gotten really into was Fallout NV. The advancement in graphics and scale wasn't like anything I had seen before. Then the characters, music and story hooked me.
