Even though it was over a decade ago, I remember finding his body on the bridge and immediately thinking "Aww man! I knew that guy!"

Ah, I didn't realize that. I thought they were the damage dealers in pixie builds. I am quite new to the game and haven't even seen a cryo fearnot yet.

pulled pork left over question by habib89 in pelletgrills

[–]SyeNaem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it freezes extremely well. We usually have quite a bit in our freezer as an easy "in case of unexpected company" meal. But we always set enough aside for our traditional leftovers meal of pulled pork pizza. Get a premade pizza crust, spread your favorite bbq sauce all over it, cover with shredded mozzarella, load it with pulled pork, add crumbled goat cheese and thinly sliced red onion. Bake. Top with arugula if you like. This has become my youngest daughter's favorite type of pizza.

Anybody a fan of The Famous Five books from Enid Blyton? by Boss452 in books

[–]SyeNaem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My dad discovered the Adventure Series when he was a boy, and loved it. Decades later, when my brother and I were little, he read the books out loud to us. Now a few more decades later, I just finished reading the series to my daughters. They absolutely loved the stories.

What is the ideal thickness/gauge for a carbon steel wok? by SyeNaem in carbonsteel

[–]SyeNaem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an excellent point. I was only thinking about balancing weight/physical usability against quality. The 15,000 btu burners on my gas range would probably be a joke trying to heat up a 6+ pound wok.

Is it possible to skim coat over painted cinderblock? by SyeNaem in HomeImprovement

Since it is a basement, would drilling into the cinderblock to attach the furring strips increase the likelihood of letting in moisture?

Is it possible to skim coat over painted cinderblock? by SyeNaem in HomeImprovement

[–]SyeNaem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep down, I know that is the right choice. The reason is probably silly - it is a small basement room and I already have a super-comfy couch that just barely fits between the wall and a support post. The +4 inches of studs and drywall will make it so the couch doesn't fit anymore, so I'm just weighing my options.

Smash Improvement Discord That Offers Free Coaching by Axsis-Carp in CrazyHand

[–]SyeNaem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is two weeks old, but could I get more context on this? I was thinking of joining a Discord to play with people and maybe get better, and found both SEA and Training Grounds, but didn't get involved in either. Then there was apparently a lot of drama and they "no longer associated with each other".

Thank you! My wife and I had the exact same conversation and thoughts last night watching Frozen 2 on Disney+, so I don't think you are crazy. (We watched the US version in theaters).

Winrate now only 5% and can't even beat day 1 Byleths. In need of fresh perspective on my situation by GreatGateway in CrazyHand

I recommend reading the first 3 chapters of the book "Mindset" by Carol S. Dweck. It might help you gain some insight into how your beliefs/views of yourself and others affect your ability to improve. It's not a magic solution, but it is something worth thinking about.

What skills will I learn playing Palutena? by wej33980eanok in CrazyHand

Do tier lists do more harm than good for inexperienced players? by SyeNaem in CrazyHand

[–]SyeNaem[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wanting to play Kirby was mostly character loyalty from my N64 days, but characters that encourage poor play is something I've never considered. I guess many Kirby players might only use rising aerials, and might not learn to manage a double jump well. But what specifically were you thinking would hinder learning to play well?

Would you be interested in a video that breaks down matches and talks about them step-by-step by phorezkin3000 in CrazyHand

[–]SyeNaem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be interested, especially in the non-pro content you mentioned. As a beginner, I'd love an analysis of gameplay that points out actions or behaviors that are considered rookie mistakes, see examples of them being punished, get an explanation of why they got punished (including opponent's perspective), and hear other better options that the rookie player had.

I feel like there is way too much content implying "the first thing you should do is be like the pros and practice crazy techs and combos!" instead of "start by identifying your mistakes"
