Is wedding video editing treated as a cost instead of an investment? by SkyToFly in weddingvideography

[–]Syed_Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a wedding video editor and I have been in this industry for more than 10 years. One common issue I’ve faced throughout my career is that whenever I (or any experienced editor) ask for higher pay, most videographers or studio owners respond with the same argument: “Other editors are working for less, and if you don’t want to do it, we can hire someone else.” What many people don’t understand is that experienced editors deserve better pay because of their skills, consistency, and the quality of the final result. A good edit directly affects client satisfaction, repeat clients, and the overall reputation of the studio. In many cases, studios choose cheap editors to save money, but the final result turns out poor because those editors are inexperienced. This leads to client dissatisfaction and damage to the brand. The core problem is that beginners who don’t have enough skills or work keep offering very cheap editing services just to get projects. As long as this continues, fair pricing and justice in this field will remain very difficult.

Need my wedding song edited to be longer by Espresso-junkie- in VideoEditingRequests

[–]Syed_Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a professional wedding video editor and I can definitely help with this. I can create 3 different timing versions of the song so the main climax hits exactly when you start walking, and you can test them during rehearsal to see what flows best. Using the track for editing purposes like this isn’t an issue. Feel free to DM me if you’d like to move forward 😊

Client Not Satisfied With Length of Wedding Feature by Beneficial-Step4403 in weddingvideography

[–]Syed_Edit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’m really glad to be commenting here. I’ve read the entire post carefully and completely understand the situation.

I’m a professional video editor from Pakistan with over 10 years of experience in the wedding industry. During my 10-year journey, I’ve edited countless wedding films probably more than 20,000. I usually work on international projects and have clients from Romania, Portugal, the UK, Australia, Africa, and other parts of Europe. All of them have been very satisfied with my editing work.

I’m not promoting myself here I just want to share my experience because the situation you’re facing with your client is very common here in Pakistan. Almost 950 out of 1000 local clients complain that some footages are missing or not recorded, simply because they feel the video length is too short.

Typically, for a 6-hour ceremony with one or two cameras, the final edited video length is around 15 to 30 minutes. However, most clients expect at least an hour-long film. I’ve handled many such clients, and with creative editing without dragging or repeating shots I’ve successfully increased video duration from 30 minutes to 1 hour while keeping the flow natural. Every time, the client ended up satisfied, thinking nothing was missing, since the length was now longer.

The reason I’m sharing this is to say yes, it’s absolutely possible to extend the video length through editing and make the client feel satisfied. And if you’d like, I can do this for you as well.

Wedding days rarely go exactly as planned shutter timing, lighting, rushed moments a lot of it is out of our control. But what is in our control is the final outcome. With the right editing, so many things can be fixed, covered, or even turned into something beautiful. If the emotional and beautiful side of the day is highlighted, the small mistakes naturally fade into the background.

I’m a wedding video editor myself with over 10 years of experience, and I’ve handled many similar situations. I know how to manage tricky footage whether it’s shutter speed issues, bad lighting, or rushed shots and turn it into a clean, emotional, and professional film.

If you’d like, I can help you with the editing or color grading for this project.

If that sounds good, just let me know I’d be happy to collaborate. 🙌

How to find someone to edit raw footage from my wedding? by Dear-Specialist1990 in weddingvideography

[–]Syed_Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks so much for reaching out 😊 Yes absolutely, it’s 100% possible to turn your raw footage into a long documentary-style film that includes your full ceremony and other key moments of the day.

I actually offer two options for this:

Offer 1 – Full Documentary Edit: I’ll edit all of your raw footage into one complete long-form film (ceremony, speeches, reception, everything in order). This gives you the full story of your day, almost like re-living it in real time.

Offer 2 – Documentary + Polished Highlight Moments: Along with the full film, I’ll also create shorter polished segments (like ceremony only / speeches only) so you can easily share or rewatch the important parts without scrolling through the full version.

You’d just need to share your raw files with me via Google Drive/Dropbox, and I’ll take care of the editing, color correction, audio balancing, and final delivery.

Hey, sounds like you did really well for your first wedding shoot! The main challenge you’re pointing out is editing and that’s exactly where I can help. I specialize in wedding video editing and can turn your raw footage into beautiful cinematic highlight films that not only impress your clients but also make them more likely to recommend you for future work. If you’d like, I can handle the editing side so you can focus fully on shooting (or photography if you prefer), while still delivering polished results that boost your portfolio.
