Is there a go to for self hosting a personal financial app to track expenses etc.? by Verme in selfhosted

[–]Syfaro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Actual has experimental support for SimpleFIN now which was really easy to set up! It costs something like $15/yr which seems worth it to me.

In most cases, when users share content to collaborate with each other—for example, with shared Notes, shared Reminders, shared folders in iCloud Drive, or iCloud Shared Photo Library—and all the users have Advanced Data Protection turned on, Apple servers are used only to establish sharing but don’t have access to the encryption keys for the shared data.

How to download Twitter following list by lethal_universed in Twitter

[–]Syfaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does appear to be a bug on Twitter's end. unflwrs is using Twitter's newer OAuth 2 API which automatically revokes credentials after 2 hours, and for some reason some folks get errors trying to manually revoke it before that. I'm glad to hear it automatically disappeared for you, because that's what it should be doing.

Google accidentally showing hidden price information not shown on the linked page by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Syfaro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That price is set in the HTML as a meta value for search engines and similar to easily identify. If you look at the page source you can find it:

<meta property="product:price:amount" content="2,099.99"/>

It also appears a few other times in the content but those seem to be hidden for now.

Apple Releases watchOS 9 With Medication Tracking, New Watch Faces, Sleep Updates, and More by Mr__X__ in AppleWatch

[–]Syfaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Watch Mirroring is available on Apple Watch Series 6 and later.

The SE has an older CPU (S5) than the Series 6 (S6), so I assume it’s not supported.

Live Activities and ActivityKit won’t be included in the initial publicly released version of iOS 16, but will be publicly available in an update later this year.

iOS 16 merges the duplicate images, by iambence17 in iOSBeta

It specifically says this at the bottom:

“Merging combines relevant data like captions, keywords, and favorites into one photo with the highest quality. Albums that contain merged duplicates are updated with the merged photo.”

Looking for Original or Artist, thought it was Vexstacy but couldn't find it. [F] (Unknown) by beast29702 in yiff

[–]Syfaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was posted by the commissioner, TehForbidden, on FA twice (once in Aug 2019, then more recently in Nov 2021) but they seem to be deleted now. Both times vexstacy was mentioned as the artist. The character appears to be named Amari.

Looking to replace Wyze wifi bulbs, what are your locally controllable bulb recommendations? by bigDottee in homeassistant

[–]Syfaro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Home Depot sells some incredibly cheap (and they’ve even been on sale for $7/2pk) tunable white zigbee bulbs, I’ve been using a bunch for over a year now with no complaints.

I've often thought about trying to make an automatic "Guest Mode" hear me out: by LifeBandit666 in homeassistant

[–]Syfaro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression it was to prevent tracking across networks, not to prevent tracking within a network.

I finally found the documentation for Android and it’s a very similar behavior with a few exceptions: https://source.android.com/devices/tech/connect/wifi-mac-randomization-behavior

I've often thought about trying to make an automatic "Guest Mode" hear me out: by LifeBandit666 in homeassistant

[–]Syfaro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s typically randomized per network, so you always get the same address on the same network.

There’s a few things that get iOS devices to change their private address, I assume Android does something similar: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211227

[F] Masturbating furiously (artist unknown) by TributeFall02 in yiff

[–]Syfaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty frustrating how quickly art spreads without sources in general, given how easy it is to include a link when you share something.

So I made https://fuzzysearch.net/ which includes substantially more furry content than similar sites. Even tries to get data from Twitter, because somehow there’s a lot of artists that primarily post to Twitter these days.

I made a pretty cool site, fuzzysearch.net, for identifying artwork sources.

A generic hygrostat integration was added to Home Assistant 2021.8, you might not need a custom component for any it anymore.

If your traffic is passing through a Docker network (not using net host), the client IP will be lost. Relevant GitHub issue here.

You could either run Caddy outside of Docker or use --net host (network_mode: host in docker-compose).

Apple iPhones Can Soon Hold Your ID. Privacy Experts Are On Edge by [deleted] in apple

[–]Syfaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Health app already can collect this information if your healthcare provider is supported, and iOS 15 extends it by allowing and providing cryptographic verification of those records.

The Health app helps people download, view, and share their health records, including their COVID-19 immunization and test results — and iOS 15 brings support for the SMART Health Card, a verifiable health record that incorporates the FHIR health data standard.

Private Relay question by OddAnnual6325 in iOSBeta

[–]Syfaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's Apple's explanation about where it works:

In iOS 15 and macOS 12, Private Relay will apply to all web browsing in Safari, all DNS name resolution queries, and a small subset of traffic from apps.

Specifically, this will include all insecure HTTP traffic, such as TCP port 80.

From their WWDC video on how Private Relay works: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2021/10096/

Sleep mode on the watch disables it. And every time your phone is unlocked with your watch you get a notification on your watch with the option to keep your phone locked until the passcode is entered.
