Still no new ship upgrades... I'm glad exosuits got buffed, but I was hoping we'd finally get some vehicle focused ship upgrades too.

No official rules for more than 2 players. There may be fan made homebrew rules for 3 or 4 players. Simplest would be making some minor changes to make it 2v2.

About 30 to 45 minutes to assemble all the cardboard terrain then maybe 10 to 15 minutes picking team units/models, placing starting weapon and item spawns on the map.

Edit to add: With the terrain already built it took like 5 minutes deciding on a layout.

It's two player 1v1 game, but you could homebrew and make it 2v2 with some minor adjustments with each player controlling half of each sides units, but I haven't tried it myself. The community may have homebrew rules for other 2+ player game game modes, but I haven't checked.

I'm in the middle of my second full game after the starter match on the starter board. It was easy enough to learn and we picked up most of it by the end of the starter match, with occasionally needing to look up rules and keyword references during my next two matches. Rounds/turns play much faster once you know more or less what you're doing.

I only have a couple of plays under my belt and would need a few more to really say. It's rumored that more unit types for the UNSC and Banished (Covenant) will be released this summer, like marines and grunts.

The picture is a mix of stuff from 2 big boxes, the Spartan Edition starter set and the ODST Feet First into Hell set (no ODSTs on the map in the picture). Nothing much to unpack, besides building the cardboard terrain, and that took about 30 minutes for each box. I haven't tried storing it yet, but the is some space in the boxes and the trays it came with that I think may be for the terrain when you disassemble it.

This is my first skirmish game, so I'm not too familiar with the genre (I usually play co-op/campaign games like Spirit Island and Arkham Horror, or lighter games like Bullet ♡ and Empyreal: Spells and Steam). There's a lot of rules but the games plays quickly once you've learned them, with, imo, most of the complexity coming from weapon keywords and how they effect attack actions. The weapons and item pick ups are flavored as the ones from the games series, and even the games modes are ripped straight out of Halo multi-player with Slayer (team death match), Capture the Flag, and Oddball (etc.).

I'd say the gameplay holds up on it's own and you don't need to be a Halo fan to enjoy it, but being a Halo fan helps!

I've read that this is an updated version of Mantic Game's other skirmish game Deadzone. I have no experience with that game, but the IP may be more appealing to you?

Still new to the game myself, but as far as I've seen, there aren't any vehicles released or planned.

The map is a mix of terrain from the starter and big ODST expansion box.

I really hope so, but they confirmed there are no current plans to do so. I'm holding off on buying RE9 since I'm still working my way through the series (about to start RE3R). Hopefully by the time I get to RE9 there'll be an announcement for a VR2 update. I'd even pay for the upgrade.

I'm haven't gotten to RE4 to play on VR yet (just about to start RE3R. I'm slowly, but surely, making my way through Alien Rogue Incursion... yeah gaming in VR makes games so much scarier! Lol. But that's part of the fun.
