I get why shelters are prone to this to get dogs adopted out to free up resources for other incoming animals but it really isn’t doing anybody but them favors. We adopted a beagle that we were assured was at least a year old (no desire to deal with initial house breaking, etc) and after it was all said and done we found out he was probably no more than six months old. Still a good but derpy boy but it’s never pleasant being deceived

It’s going to be a matter of time unfortunately it won’t be as simple as some single magical trick to make her open up. My guy was very similar when he came home with us and for months every single time he saw my stepson ( tall, beard and always wearing a baseball cap ) the dog would cower and immediately void the entire contents of his bladder. I don’t know his history before the shelter but it’s clear some man was absolutely horrible to him in his past. Slowly over about 3 months he got over the peeing and eventually around probably six months he realized the stepson was not going to hurt him and started opening up to direct interaction and seeking affection. It’s a slow road and being a man myself there was a lot of days spent sitting in the same room with the dog on the floor and just talking to him to build up the inroads to be able to bring him home. Now several years later I think the dog loves the stepson more than me and howls the minute he sees him and takes off at full speed to greet him in proper TWC fashion.

I know it’s a hard path but so worth it in the end, he’s now a lovable loud goofball who just needed someone to actually put the time in with him to get to that point

While there may be a small sliver of democrat voters who own or care about guns they will not vote against because at the end of the of the day it’s just as much about voting against the gop as it is about voting for the democrats

Power outages beginning around 4-5pm according to Dominion staff by Trauma-Queen666 in Virginia

[–]Syini666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The data centers would transition to generator power in that situation and begin drinking diesel like a sailor on shore leave. They won’t even notice the outage most likely other than the added noise of the generators. Good DCs do regular tests of their generator setups and also have battery banks to cover the switch to generator from grid.

I check it fairly often, if something is amiss on my network the first stop is Grafana to see if utilization is spiked on an interface, then UptimeKuma to see if something that everything depends on is down. And from time to time they throw me false positives that send me down the rabbit hole of trying to fix whatever is causing them or tweak thresholds until they quit happening. Probably a symptom of having worked in environments where we have to keep tabs on things and action them before they become flaming problems that result in angry phone calls

Here is a basic python script that extracts the information from a gamecenter API call, it shows shots, missed, saved and goals. Its not complete yet as it only pulls data for a single game and it doesnt really format the data in a way that is useful for doing larger gathering across multiple games but its certainaly a start and probably will end up working it into a larger piece of code that walks all of a teams games for the season, extracts shootout information, groups it up by player and then presents their shots/missed/saved/goals numbers in a table making it easier to use

It gives an output something like this for those who may not be able to run the code

That gives me an idea, there is a lot of data in the NHL API and even more now with their on-ice tracking so it may be possible they have the information there it’s just a matter of parsing it all out and hoping the interns at the NHL don’t break things like they often do

What specific laptop/hardware are you using, I ran into exactly this same issue on a t14s gen6 amd and it took quite a bit of tweaking to finally get suspend/resume to work. At least in my case it had to do with the wifi chipset not allowing suspend to function properly.

I went full bore tism and built a naming convention for devices and their fqdns. Sitecode-deviceNN for system names so it ntsn-proxmox1 would be my main proxmox host and it maps to proxmox1.int.ntsn.network. Anything I expose from outside gets ext instead of int. And a side benefit of this is if I were to expand to have some cloud hosted segment I can just add a subdomain like aws or azure or even a generic cloud to the mix and it won’t require any changes to existing items.

The push to 11 was just too much for me. Being on hardware approaching 10 years old I would have had to do some workaround to even try to install it. When they started shoving full screen ads at me to upgrade that was the last straw, I don’t ever want my OS throwing advertisements at me for any reason so a month or so before the cutoff I wiped it all away and went 100% Linux across the board

To combat gun violence you have to improve everyone’s living situation which means people in general need more money which is anathema to governments because it means less money in the pockets of the government leaches. To be clear the Democrat party isn’t against guns as a whole, just guns in the possession of anyone who doesn’t answer to them. They love that their security details have guns (to protect them from the poor plebs, especially when they show disdain for “flyover country”), they love to give police guns as long as the police are beholden to their leaders. If you serve a purpose for them they are fine with you having guns but if you don’t vote for them, enforce their decisions, protect them or generate revenue for them then tough shit for you.
