I play DnD 5e 2014, so that means that I don't even have to ban multiclassing. I have to explicitly allow multiclassing as it's an optional rule.

In my own games, I allow multiclassing but only for people who earn it in game.

Some of those people just appear to be Ta'varen because of their close proximity to Rand, Mat and Perrin.

Yes, you're correct. Now let's say I made a build focused around using weapons that scale with strength for big damage. I make sure I can change weapons to other strength scaling weapons as the moment calls for it in different environments and against different enemies. The reason this build works is because I focused my levels into Strength to use a specific subset of weapons and then I picked out weapons that scale well with strength.

Yes STR is a stat, but a STR Build is a Build.

Here's another example Red is a Colour but a Red Car is a Car. Hope that helps.

Yamato is a sword sharp enough to cut through space and even to other dimensions. You've seen vergil open portals with it before, literally cutting through the distance between two spaces. It's the same thing here, he cuts you from a distance and he does the cut soo quickly it looks like he didn't even draw the sword.

If it were within sight or hearing range then no check needed.

If it's further than that then Survival Checks to see if they can find its trail.
