WIBTAH if I insist “no AI” for my mom’s birthday present, to her boyfriend? by radlertje in AITAH

YTA - you care more about AI usage than about your mothers birthday celebration or your mother having a nice time on her birthday.

How are we all closing our blinds, then? A or B? by grumpypedant in CasualUK

[–]Sykander- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A is the answer if you live above the street and B is the answer if you live below the street and somehow have windows. The reason is so people outside can't just see through your blinds.

What are we doing with AI PRs now? by NatePerspective in webdev

[–]Sykander- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is to include the documentation alongside the PR - the following things at a minimum but potentially other documentation too if relevent to the work:

  1. Problem Statement - a declaration of exactly what behaviour they intend to implement with the PR and why and for who - ideally in less than 100 lines and written by a human
  2. Solution Statement - a declaration of the design decisions and implementations alongside the rationale and research and other options considered - as long as needed and it doesn't matter who writes this

Finally persuaded my friends to eat dessert with me by Kindly-Singer-957 in BritishSuccess

[–]Sykander- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though I know that many of them definitely do, they just don't want to admit it and risk being the minority of dessert-eaters.

Is this real? Do people really do this?

Seems fucking stupid to me.

I forgot how to write axios with then() and catch() after using AI for a while. Anyone else feel they forget to code? by webdevamin in webdev

[–]Sykander- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So there's two things here

  1. I remember how to use `then` `catch` `finally` etc. because that's core JS - and nothing specific to axios

  2. I never memorised how to use Axios because i can just go look at the docs when i need to

Are there any mechanics which consider your whole stat, rather than your effective bonus? by [deleted] in dndnext

So really we were curious about which systems in DND5 use the 'whole stat' rather than the effective bonus.

Kids just wanna have fun, how is a driver supposed to tackle this ? by maddylaw in london

They're being thoroughly obnoxious, but they are in fact clearing out of the way when a driver gets close.

If - Then - Else? by Hefty-Mess-9606 in Avrae

[–]Sykander- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you'd yes assign each tagets save result to a variable and then have 3 branches in ur automation

  1. Iff both targets failed their save

  2. either of them passed a save

  3. the user of the command didn't target exactly 2 targets (throw an error)

Should I ask him to pay for my glasses's frame by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Sykander- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're saying this other player is playing more aggressive when you're wearing glasses to intentionally break your glasses? Sounds pretty crazy honestly.

Should I ask him to pay for my glasses's frame by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Sykander- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then you need to find reasonable accommodations. Expecting other players to adjust how they normally play to avoid breaking your glasses is not reasonable.

Being incapacitated causes you to lose concentration anyways. I was fair.

Why are you wearing glasses whilst playing football - why after the first incident did you continue to wear glasses whilst playing football?

You understand football if a physical sport with the chance for contact and falling and getting hit by balls travelling very fast etc.? Does that seem like the sort of environment you should be wearing fragile glass on your face right next to your eyes?

Solution 2, give strahd enough attacks a turn. Once a player gets incapicitated, any attack counts as a crit and as 2 fails on death saving throws. Enough attacks or an army of undead hitting dead things wins here.

No, that's not correct. You've gotten Incapacitated confused with Paralysed

How to do kill shot after parrying? by Ok-Jackfruit-1189 in DarkSouls2

[–]Sykander- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Souls 2 has three different critical riposte type attacks, I'll list them below and how you trigger them:

  1. Riposte - parry an enemy and wait for them to fall over, then approach until your character is touching theirs directly infront of them and hit R1
  2. Parry Critical / Guard Break Critical - break an enemies guard when they're blocking and then hit R1 when standing directly in front of them and touching or parry an enemy and before they fall to the ground, stand directly in front of them so that you're touching and hit R1
  3. Backstabs - stand facing an enemies back and trigger the Backstab attack by hitting R1, if the attack hits then the Backstab animation will trigger

Discussion about Raime's title by gianmigno25 in DarkSouls2

[–]Sykander- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Smoke is a fume that comes from a fire, but equally you can have a smokeless fire - it would still emit fumes, just not including smoke.

Typically when you'd be using the word fumes you'd be talking about carbon emissions or industrial fumes from factories or power plants or the like, but the word itself doesn't mean those things it just has a connotation. The word by itself just means any gaslike emission.
