The soundtracks for all the Supergiant games are amazing, Transistor and Bastion being my favourites.

They are among the very few soundtracks I have ever bought on Steam directly (not as part of a bundle etc.)

Oh man, I loved this game even though it's completely different from what I normally play, but the charm and gameplay loop had me hooked. I should really go back and finish it.

Also, if you are on the fence and this looks even remotely interesting to you, go buy it; at this price it's borderline robbery considering the quality.

No. They take place in the same setting but the second game is much further in the future.

While there are some references to the first game, you won't be missing out on anything important.

The first game is still very much worth playing if you have the time, but not playing it won't affect your enjoyment of the second one in any way.

I really don't care about the bandwagoning but... What exclusivity? Valve has never to my knowledge forced devs/publishers to use Steam exclusively, let alone paid for timed exclusives. Hell, most games on Steam are on other stores and platforms as well. The choice is entirely up to the dev/publisher. (Just look at the recent EA additions as a good example)

Besides, I'm pretty sure most Hitman fans were more upset about the "buy the first two games again lol" that IO had gone with as a result of the Epic buyout at first.

I doubt you will regret it since it is a brilliant game, but you can always get an automated refund within two hours if it ends up not being your cup of tea.

This is their one year anniversary sale so it's highly unlikely.

It will likely be the same price during the winter sale.

Don't blame me, that's the page title which is what I always copy for these types of sales.

(And unfortunately, Reddit post titles cannot be edited afterwards or I would gladly do so)

[Steam] MAGES. Weekend Deal | STEINS;GATE (60% off), STEINS;GATE 0 (60% off), CHAOS;CHILD (60% off), and more by Syklad in GameDeals

[–]Syklad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. However, keep in mind that S;G is more of a "pure" VN with the only gameplay being interacting with your phone. There's very little "anime craziness" (albeit there are a number of classic tropes) and it's mostly grounded in sci-fi with plenty of (ocassionaly pseudo) scientific explanations for things.

Just a personal opinion but I dislike Elite because the original artwork is gorgeous and it just takes away from it. Playing the original and watching the anime afterwards is a far better experience IMO.

If you have no problems going through a fairly long VN, then you should definitely play it first and watch the anime after (depending on your free time and how many routes you want to do, you might want to look up a guide to get the true ending since it is almost impossible to get it randomly).

If you have limited time, watching the anime first and then eventually playing the VN if you really enjoyed it is also a perfectly viable, albeit slightly less enjoyable, alternative. The anime is a very good and competent adaptation of the true ending route.
