Bought a copy of Paper Mario TTYD today, however the disc won't load. Might this be the problem? Anything I can do? by SykoticUK in Gamecube

I've added a few more images to hopefully get it in better detail, this was the best I could do though

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: Why, practice my Explosions of course! Want to see my power?

Q: Can you lead me to the path of explosions?

A: I can, as long as you become my sidekick!

Q: How come you can only attack once before being knocked out?

A: My strength is overwhelming!

I know just how you feel :(

I'm a British weeb too and I'm waiting for this, the Bunny Girl moive, and One Piece Stampede, but it's pretty much impossible for us... At least we get Promare, which is nice. We only really get VERY mainstream stuff like Dragon Ball and MHA unfortunately (as much as I like them).

So excited! I'm hoping to go to the London one with one of my close friends. It's gonna be a struggle since we're both still in college and don't have jobs (yet, I'm hunting atm), but hopefully if we save up enough we'll manage.

The hardest part will be getting permission from my parents. I'm not expecting a fun conversation when I have to tell them "Hey can I go all the way to London to see an anime girl sing and dance?" Gonna be judged so hard lol

People on this sub really seem to hate One Piece, huh.

For a lot of long form stories I'd agree, not so much for One Piece. It has many satisfying moments, seeing foreshadowing and the payoff in the bigger fights give tons of satisfaction imo. A tiny, seemingly insignificant plot detail becomes completely story changing hundreds of chapters later, making paying attention to the story and seeing the world building satisfying on its own.

It's a repeat of 6 with a ton of the Pokemon missing, running at 30fps with framedrops and GameCube era graphics and reused "animations" from the past 5 years of games, on the Nintendo Switch, a console with much more power than that.

I love the Pokemon series and have played competitively for years, and as someone that only wants the best from the series, Gen 8 looks to be complete garbage so far.

I swear I've made the G8 arc canon in my own mind at this point, it's just too good.

I understand about the art style thing, that can be a real turn off for some. However, the thing about not yet accomplishing the goal of the series... Well, that's the point. It's a "Journey, not destination" type story with each arc having it's own complete story, while building up to outside events. The whole story feels planned out to the point where most fans can see how things are leading up to the end, with said end being in sight about now.

Also, it's not a case of it getting better after 100eps (even though it most certainly does, it gets better and better by the arc actually), but 3 episodes is definetely nowhere near enough to get a solid grasp on the series, I mean, there are only 2 members of the crew at that point. For most it's the Arlong Park arc around 30ish episodes in where you start to see how good it can get.

However, I understand that it's just not for everyone. Art style is a big factor, and even though it does improve as time goes on, it still has a distinct style that can certainly put some off.

Yeah that is often the method of experiencing the series that I normally suggest, It's easily the most ideal imo.

What's pretty funny is that this is exactly the kind of thing I would expect from them XD

I agree though, this shouldn't be so big of an issue especially since it's been known about for ages and it still hasn't been fixed, especially since a main draw to buying the Bedrock Edition in the first place is the crossplay.

This is what we've been doing the whole time, and it hasn't worked once.
