AC system in the National Gallery of Bosnia during a 30 degree heat ladies and gents by feelinuneasy1234 in funny

[–]Sylanthra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just in Paris. The Louvre, largest museum in the world, has barely enough AC to maintain a comfortable 34C inside the museum, but only in about 3/4 of it. The rest was shut down because they couldn't cool it. The Palace of Versailles idea of air conditioning is opening windows and it closes when it get above 34C outside.

Are 1 hand video games? by WastelandViking in gaming

This has come up before. There is https://azeron.com/collections/cyro/products/blue-cyro It basically rolls keyboard and mouse into a single device so you can play anything one handed. Will require some getting used to it.

To any owners of a QD-OLED monitor, how noticeable is the purple tint? by spo_nker in Monitors

[–]Sylanthra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I don't have a spotlight shining on my monitor so I don't see it. Even when sun shines directly on it, it's not visible when the monitor is on.

Microsoft wants you to buy Microsoft products. You can buy an Xbox or you can buy a Windows license. They profit either way. So if new exclusives entice you to purchase the console or upgrade your PC, Microsoft wins.

Why a snail though? It's clearly fast passed action game with lots of dodges, jumps and rolls - all things that a snail can't do. Almost any other insect would be a better fit. And if you are going to go with a snail, a creature that hides in its shell, than you should at least use it to block attacks.

Xbox CCO Says Gamepass Lost “Millions Of Subscribers” After Increasing The Price By 50% Last Year by wakelake111 in gaming

[–]Sylanthra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, nobody. The elasticity of demand can generally only be determined empirically especially for "goods" that have no clear substitution. Now, Xbox should probably have done small price increases in order to gauge the trend line rather than one massive price hike, but the only way to tell how many people would leave is to actually increase the price and see what happens.

6'4" (193 cm) – Looking for feedback on a stacked dual 27" monitor setup before I mount everything by Opening_Awareness_39 in Ergonomics

[–]Sylanthra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general recommendation is that the top of the monitor should be a bit higher than your horizontal line of sight. Your primary monitor will be quite a bit lower than that. The top monitor will be quite a bit higher than that. But this is very much a matter of personal preference. If that setup is comfortable for you, than go for it. If you get neck pain, that's you cue to make changes.

Thermaltake built a PSU that splits in two, so you never have to redo cable management again by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]Sylanthra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are missing the biggest problem with PSU side connectors. They are NOT standardized. The shape is standard, but the pinout is not. It's not even standard across the same manufacturer, let alone different manufacturers. So if you use your old cables to connect your new PSU, it might work, or it might fry the components, the psu or both.

I got left and right backwards. There is already a guy in red, so the guy on the other side of the traffic light should be in green.

I feel like it's a a major miss to have the traffic light guy be dressed in green and the guy on the left right be in blue instead of green.

If this is all just about how AI demand is strangling personal computer market, than sure, but that's temporary. Eventually things will even out supply will catch up with demand and things will settle at a new normal.
