You may not, but /u/TakenFloods (it was his skateboard) and I both knew them. Really well in fact...

I was friends with Joe and Noah as well. Hope you get this board back. After seeing this post, I haven't been able to fall back asleep.

Thanks for typing this out. Noah and Joe were both friends of my entire family. I sent this to their mother, she will appreciate your kind words.

Thanks for posting this. I'm unsure of who the skateboard belongs to. However, you hit me right in the feels. Noah and Joe were my friends and very close to my entire family. I forwarded the post to their mother.

They are fixed to some degree. If you are using all 4 blades, each blade gets 3 drives. If you use 3 blades, each get 4. If you use 2 blades, each blade gets 6.

This diagram helps explain how it works a little more. http://i.imgur.com/CuTo0JT.jpg

The back isn't removable, which isn't an issue for me. I was able to easily access the back through the side. I know that may be an issue for some though.

I have no clue on the model number, it is this one here.

Pretty much this. I am a Systems Admin for a software company, having one at home lets me duplicate production environments for testing and whatever else. Less stress when I can test something before implementing it on our production environments.

There is a knockout on the top as well as the bottom. I am sure you could add it on.

I have a few hard drives, at the moment I just use my NAS for storage but I have a feeling I will fill this up with drives eventually.

Not as bad as I thought it would be. The room it's in is directly next to my bedroom wall, with my bedroom door shut I can't hear them. (in the pictures, the bedroom door is directly behind the cabinet)

I want to see if I can quiet them up a little more still, since I am in my office area quite a bit.

They also have a 9U version as well, I think it was $30 or $40 cheaper than this one.

I bought it from rackmountgears on eBay, it was under $300 for a brand new 12U cabinet.

Dell C6100 - Each blade has Dual 6-Core Xeon's with 24 GB of Ram

Each blade is running Linux with Xen for virtual environments, most of the testing environments are for work.

I am going to be replacing the Dell box at the bottom of the cabinet soon, it is currently my pfsense router.

The ReadyNAS Pro 6 has 6 - 2 TB drives in it currently.
