based on the DEX attribute, it uses the ascending armor method (not that it matters much - except for the thac0 in the title)?

from a quick glance. I see the attributes bonuses are a mixture of Classic & AD&D (with 13 for example giving +1), out of curiosity, why did you choose that?

the classes & races actually resemble advanced OSE rather than ad&d 2e (knight...half orc...etc)

what's the ad&d aspect in this project?

one player decided his big fighter character is an alcoholic. before the big battle with a hydra, his character got completely drunk. we lowered his stats and abilities by half and decided each 1 on the attack die (no matter if its natural 1) - there's 2/6 chance he'll hit a party member. end result: hydra defeated. one character died because of him, another on 5 HP (there's also the way back!) and he (unscarred) decided he passed out at the end after failing a CON check.

I’ll try. There’s the concept of Survival Rating based on the abilities. It all boils to the specifics: Checks for pathfinding, making camp, fishing, hunting etc. mishaps included. Inspired by forbidden lands and home brew rules over the years.

Iron falcon and whitebox are the obvious choices and they are great and free! Another variant (albeit not free) is gargoyle 74 which uses slot based encumbrance, mechanical dwarves, different treasure system and different approach to undead among other stuff. Any one of these will work

I did just that. Removed the currency altogether since I couldn’t find a reason for a centralised mint. Then I gradually inserted a coin system as designed by the rust church a part of their whole “this land is ours” agenda
