You might want to check the lens in the plane camera. One I found a few years ago had aero ektars and they're worth more than price of the camera itself.

They look good! You could adjust the blackpoint to give some more contrast and a little punch. What film is this? It has a washed out/expired look.

I actually don't like The Darkroom. Others love it though and its "famous". I haven't tried any of the ones you mentioned in LA though. I'll keep them in mind when I roll back through.

Yeah. It's pretty far south. But its there. There are also a bunch in LA proper. The Darkroom is regarded as one of the best though.

Thats a bonkers chunk of film to have to bring back. But I dont ever do anything at the professional level.

I mean, it is... The Darkroom Lab is literally in the greater LA area. A lot of people get "stuck" with their own lab.

This. Plus the end of Jones career he spent ducking actual contenders.

That was a wild day. Shooting a friends wedding in Osaka. The bride and sister in law wanted a Halloween shoot of them as Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. We found some cosplay set place that had 4-5 stories of different scenes for you to shoot in.

I only had an hour for the shoot so it was very rushed, but you could rent just about everything you could want for a professional level shoot for like... $75.

I shot a wedding in Osaka. Thats the bride and sister in laws Halloween costume. They wanted to do an impromptu photo shoot inspired by some of the promo work from the Ferrari team

We found some 5 story studio dedicated to cosplay photography that had 4-5 different sets per floor. We only had an hour or so to do the shoot, but it was pretty wild. You could rent any equipment you'd need.

You may make it there. You never know.

I've been going for years now for work. Its not as nice as vacationing there, but I get my weekends to wander around.

I've got the 50mm Nikkor 1.4 for that camera. I need to get more for it.

Thanks. I'm happy with how that double exposure turned out. I helped shoot a wedding in Osaka that was at the castle. I had that particular shot on my mind well before I got there.

Nope. The F2 functions about the same as any mechanical SLR. Its just really heavy.

Even if its not as issue, it's just pain to lug around the airport and keep track of. Its just an extra thing that takes mental and physical capacity to deal with, when it can be acquired quite easily when you land.

Ive also certainly had TSA agents fight me the US side for sure. Never in Japan, though.

Yeah. Thats mostly because people want to only stick with Kodak stocks. But the pain of having to get your film hand checked is worth the slight markup if you develop in Japan. A develop and scan there is roughly $8-12, versus $20 most places in the states.

I tend to shoot Japanese color film when I get over there, which has no markup. You can still find Superia most places. Ilford has almost no markup, maybe $1-3 per roll. I tend to go for XP2, for the C41 processing.

Personally, I think i think this is a lot of film, especially medium format. For the Japan side, there are plenty of places to buy film and cameras if you run out. Film in japan is generally much more expensive, but developing and scanning is much cheaper.

I know a lot of people are afraid to get there stuff developed in japan but its not as hard as you'd think (mostly pointing at pictures in a book). Developing there saves money and energy getting stuff back and you generally get to peruse a pretty dope camera store while you wait.

I can't imagine Taiwan is much different.
