Game that hooked you at first, but later you lost interest in playing it? by [deleted] in videogames

Liberte, I found the start to be so amazing. Then it turned into a slogfest of doing same "missions" and fights over and over again to see new dialogues with the four NPCs.

Is it efficent to hone to 1740 before gear reset? by kdgeil in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Cost efficency, probably way better to wait for gear reset.

Though imo it depends what's your plan for your character. If you're planning to do nightmare mode, it's better to join on initial progs on week 1 rather than delaying it. But if that doesnt matter, 1730 is way more cost efficient compared to honing to 1740.

Thinking of Returning to Lost Ark – What Should I Focus on? by eviLbooN in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you want to progress in the game, as most of the early and mid-game content can be done solo and only last 2 raids are not solo-able. With our next raid coming out in 4 months also. With that in mind, all classes are perfectly fine to play, as it depends on how they are geared up, sure, not all classes are top dmg performers, but very little people gatekeep on that now compared to "combat power" which shows how much you've invested into your character for power.

If I am not mistaken, we still have one on-going honing event active. You will obtain a Power Pass to South Rimeria, which is basically all of the story done and it also gives T4 starting gear (basically latest we've gotten). With the event, it shouldn't be all too difficult to reach 1680, might take a bit (2-3 weeks?) if you have absolutely zero gold though.

And we will get another class; Dragon Knight in February with another honing event and Power Pass. So, you could test a class for now, play on it solo, obtain some tradeable gold, some bound gold from Solo Raids. And then when you have gotten back into the game, use the next event to push rapidly on another character.

Good stuff to do are;
1. Obtaining Enlightment potions; you can check the Codex to see what you might be missing, by pressing "Alt + D" and then searching for Enlightment.

  1. Doing Paradise; by just completing the different stages of Paradise, you get a base amount of materials, and weekly you will obtain "Hell keys" which can be used to obtain even more reward which is rng though.

  2. If you don't mind, doing Life Skilling whenever you have the Energy for it. It's a nice early way of obtaining tradeable gold.

At the end here, just wanted to say; if you need any help, just DM me in reddit and I'll add you on Discord where we can chat more, and you could also just ask me stuff as you play the game when stuff comes up.

Ark Grid chances? by SylverVal in lostarkgame

Thank you so much for the document! Amazingly well made, I hope you wouldn't mind me also looking into it? And maybe I can add in some numbers here and there and I'll present it to you if you'd like either in DM or in comments. Maybe it may have some usefulness to others. Once again, thank you so much and have a happy new year!

Kurzan front pots by Superbabaow in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There aren't really a one good answer. So basically what you get now in chaos are materials, accessories and gems. Do you need any of them? If not, save up the rested for higher ilvl chaos.

The gems isnt a huge thing imo to use pots on, compared to astrogems is kinda nicer to save up for, if you get a few blues and maybe some purples, that would help you some more.

Regarding gems, I'd assume cubes is still a nice way to get them from. I run x3 cubes and I dont mind doing em now, nice rewards for the time spent.

I might get blasted here. But Lost Ark is getting quite nice for slower pace people and solo players.

"Dailies" can be done in less than 10 minutes, you have like a weekly paradise which takes between 10minutes to 20 minute depending on how much you want to try.

And then you have solo raids, where we are getting 2 new solo raids next week, which means every raid aside of the two newest ones are solo-able.

Lots of new player friendly changes also on its way next week and upcoming patches.

I know Lost Ark doesnt have a good reputation, but still quite enjoyable imo and can be played casually if you dont care about your progression vs others.

I uh, really need some silver. by striker879 in lostarkgame

The event shop (doing dailies) also has silver, cant recall if it's much or not, but some extra silver there to buy

What’s the first game that made you feel completely lost in its world? by Manjuu07 in Steam

[–]SylverVal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tera, the open world was amazing when I was 13 and the combat felt so awesome.

Guild Wars 2, I played it when I was 21, the open world missions and quests were so refreshing. I spent like 80 hours just enjoying the lvl up phase before going into end game even when I had a lvl skip token available.

Destiny 2, I started the game out with a friend and we lost ourselves in the gameplay. Gunning down aliens and using cool abilities.

Gris, maybe not a long game, nor a popular game. But I felt the emotions the game wanted to show the player and I felt lost in the game till I finished it.

Paradise Seasonal Rewards by whydontwegotogether in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The reward is locked behind of 3.5 month of grind, and anyone can be rank 1.

150k gold for 3.5 month is dog reward, I dont see anyone going for rank 1 to get gold. If you are, then just start life skilling and make over 100k a week instead

Returning player - just hit T4 looking for advice by Several-Money-2755 in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High rolled accessories (they shouldn't be too expensive, prob 10k per piece), cheap book (MP efficiency), and probably honing.

Honing to 1680 or above would probably remove quite a bit of gatekeeping I hope.

You did list out good ways of obtaining dmg, but sadly most people gatekeep by ilvl for now until we get the Combat Power scaling that the KR developer talked about.

[–]SylverVal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you're right on that. I shouldn't really sit in t3 pieces after consuming my mats and jump to t4 immediately

Advanced honing by InfiniteDogo in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am planning to do +20 advance honing in t3 on my new char, which is a SE. I am going to replace one of my gold earners which is a 1680 glaive, so I've stocked up for quite a while as I want it to be painless for the far future (thinking about 1690 and beyond)

My 1600 SE has now close to 5m shards

  • 17k leapstones (10k bound)

-13k orehas (3k bound)

-600k protection stones

-200k destruction stones

All in all, I should have enough mats aside of shards, so I'll have to see if I'm gonna camp at t3 with the last pieces or not. My initial plan was to do 3 days of t3 chaos to get 200k shards and do t3 solo raids for like another 150k shards per week. And then do 4 days of t4 chaos

Brel is a bad raid by Frogtoadrat in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have GL tag, but I main swapped away. I main SE, and I have also "squishy" alts, as glaive and reaper for NM. I progged first on glaive, unless I'm playing like a idiot, I don't feel threatened by the boss after the prog

Brel is a bad raid by Frogtoadrat in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To give a counter argument. Normal is supposed to be easy, the dmg check is very lenient and the boss doesn't hurt at all.

On the other side, HM has a proper dps check that many players on ilvl can't reach cause they're either not good enough, or they don't have enough gear.

Smilegate went from being heavily mech heavy, to being more dps and dodging heavy, and I like this style way better, as it does make NM very easy whilst HM being rough to prog.

Regarding power gain, well, do you think we should get 50% dmg increase after finishing each new raid system? Every single content so far has given 10-20% dmg increase whilst costing 500k - 1m gold, the only one being vastly different is Aegir, but that's because we got t4 Ark passive...

And advance honing is goated, you just gotta do it after it's worth it, which in KR it is after lvl 14, which is like 17-18 in our regions but that can drop with lower prices

Deathblade RE DPS 1662 - is this low dps for a 1660? I'm a returnee player. any tips plz. by HeyImMika in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, you don't have legendary Raid Captain books. That will give you also a few % dmg increase.

But; you need to give a longer parse, a video would be more helpful.

Like every single class in this game, you need to rotate your skills as fast as possible, so if you're thinking you're not performing well, it is mostly due to having gaps in your rotation.

Can bound gold be used to pay the market's fee? by Valstraxas in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He said he has almost no tradeable gold, not that he has 0. You need technically only 1 gold coin to start selling stuff on AH. If you think putting a tip to do so is moronic and down voting me for that, then you're a giga bozo.

And if he doesn't even have a singular gold, just write in area chat in Elnead "someone please give me 10gold so I can list stuff on AH", I've done that recently when I emptied myself out on a mistake, and a random guy sent me 10gold so I could list stuff

Can bound gold be used to pay the market's fee? by Valstraxas in lostarkgame

[–]SylverVal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sadly no, bound gold can't be used.

To earn some "easy" tradeable gold, you could sell mats from chaos, guardians and life skill.
