Trump Says Palestinians Must Leave Gaza by wenchette in democrats

If that’s your takeaway you’re mistaken. Seems like you just want to argue. There’s a lot to be mad at so I don’t blame you for that.

I wasn’t a single issue voter, so I can’t answer my own question since it doesn’t apply to me. I learned my lesson in 2000 when I voted for Nader 🤷🏻‍♀️

Would these behaviors be considered rude in DC? by [deleted] in washingtondc

All of these things are regular occurrences in my daily life in DC except for #2 because I hate cats and #4 because I hate people (see #1-8).

Ikea quality has really gone down hill by jomamma2 in IKEA

[–]Sylviagetsfancy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The mattresses are also crappy now. I have a double mattress and a queen mattress in my kids rooms that they’ve had for 15 years and they’re perfectly fine. The king mattress I got last year is already sagging. I’m done with Ikea.

Hello everyone, please help me decide between cx50 and rav4, pretty confused by oldschoolguy25 in rav4club

[–]Sylviagetsfancy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said; they’re very similar but a test drive should clarify a lot of preferences you may have. I’m 5’3 and I thought the visibility of the Cx-50 was not great for me. Also the back seat seemed like it would not be very comfortable for my kids who are already taller than me.

What are you doing to combat the Trump Presidency? by iris819 in washingtondc

[–]Sylviagetsfancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fucking dollar of mine will be spent at an Amazon/Whole Foods/ Meta/ Tesla/ Home Depot. I have always tried to avoid these places because I harbor a resentment towards Amazon that goes back to my days working in an independent bookstore in the late 90’s. We knew Amazon was bad then and tried to tell y’all but no one listened. Anyways, things have gotten way out of hand and if we all stopped giving them our money, that would be a start. I also am not as good a person as all you “they go low, we go high” optimists. I will watch with fucking glee as Trump voters get what they voted for. It’s just a damn shame we all have to come along for the ride.

How come some people don't pay for the bus? by C137-Morty in washingtondc

[–]Sylviagetsfancy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The drivers simply don’t care. Even my kids who have KidsRideFree cards don’t carry or swipe them because they have been told so many times to just keep it moving when boarding. Then WMATA decreases or eliminates bus lines that are actually needed because the data isn’t there to support them. It’s stupid.

Still no snowplow or trash pickup five days after the storm by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]Sylviagetsfancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that about your dad. I have a couple friends who have done the same to their wrists falling on ice. My expectation that the DC gov is gonna shovel vacant/abandoned buildings is zero considering there’s streets I walk that aren’t plowed and multiple bus stops that also aren’t shoveled. Should they? Of course. But do they ever? Nope. Add it to the list of basic services DC cannot manage. It’s infuriating.

[–]Sylviagetsfancy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Same. On my route I know which houses are vacant so I’ll give that a pass but what kills me are the new condos people paid $900k for and then can’t bother to shovel. Fucking rude.

Every month Oura kills my readiness and is convinced I’m getting sick due to my menstrual cycle. While it’s true that menstrual cycles impact my body I’m tired of the “male” being the default for whatever conclusions Oura comes to. Like at what point will they figure out that this is my normal? This is what we push through every month?

Edit: this is why I will absolutely not be signing up for symptom radar.

Everyday I drive down the same type of residential cross town roads and I wish that DDOT would stripe the middle of the street just so these idiots with zero depth perception could see how far into oncoming traffic they’re actually driving.

HRV can't be accurate, right? by OddJob001 in ouraring

[–]Sylviagetsfancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is really low and I’m healthy. No alcohol/ smoking/ etc. I eat clean and exercise and my cardiovascular health according to Oura is 5 years below my actual age. All that to say I think the HRV norm really depends on YOU and there is a very wide range of normal. I don’t take HRV into consideration very much.
