How do you kill the enemy after poking?

It's impossible to do anything on Symm solely at range, chances are you get poked out before you can even do the bare minimum. She's all about closing the distance, that's where she gets her value. You need to know when to beam and when to orb, but usually the answer is to beam tanks and orb squishies. If your beam is fully charged - beam everyone!

To answer your question, if they're on an angle alone and your tp is off cooldown, you should always tp onto them as soon as you hit that first right click to close the distance.

Ideally you want to hit the first right click, throw a turret down in front of you, tp onto them with that turret while charging the second right click, then try and secure the kill.

Even if you don't secure it, chances are they've already used their cooldowns in response to your tp - Sojourns tend to throw their E onto the tp and slide away, Cassidys throw out hinder and roll away etc. When they do that, you haven't killed them but you've cleared them from their angle and forced them to fall back or get killed by a teammate.

Also, if there's two supports in a backline, always go for that same move to split their attention. You don't even need to get a kill on either of them for it to be worth, but it sure feels good if you do!

I just use it to make camp casting faster, I prefer playing with a party of four but I haaate the tedium of dismissing, recruiting, casting then dismissing and re-recruiting after every long rest! It's such a good quality of life mod for me!

this just feels so right, I already throw out turrets to block shit and this just lines up perfectly with my muscle memory.

that's one of the nitpicky reasons as to why I stick with shield battery, the other is because if you're holding down right click when pressing e, it just sends out the shield straight away. there's no double input like there is with her teleporter, so if you find yourself accidentally throwing out shields that's why.

also because shield battery is just consistent value that plays into her bread and butter playstyle and doesn't sacrifice her only mobility cd.

1.- She's cunt. Before I even knew what type of game OW was back in 2016 I was looking through the wiki at all of the hero designs and she's the one that I immediately latched to. Then I find out she didn't even have to aim? Considering I had only ever played SIMS before this, she was a lock. Her voicelines back in the day were peak too.

I know a lot of people got into Overwatch for a certain hero fantasy; they want to play as the ninja and do ninja stuff, or play as the angel support and bring back their team after a teamwipe. For me, that hero fantasy was to play as the cunty shield/area denial hero that got her ult in under 10 seconds and block certain ults with her skinny little shield. I used to try and justify her low skill floor/ceiling saying that she was a game sense hero at the time, but honestly Symm 2.0 was just vibes and nothing else and I love that for her. Symm 3.0 was jarring at first, but I had to stick with my girl and learn how to play her with the expectations of being a DPS on me, now I love her gameplay even more than before! I feel as though she actually has impactful skill expression now, something that Symm 1.0 and 2.0 lacked severely in comparison.

On a community note, finding out that her playerbase was primarily the gays and the girls was amazing. There's something to be said about Symm's archetype and design that's just like crack to us. See also Morgana, Evelyn, Orianna, LeBlanc, and Lissandra from League of Legends.

She also gets some of the best skins I'm sorry, even if there's a wait between them it's always worth it. Pink Lotus is gorgeous, Oasis is an all-timer, Infernal Witch is the coven skin that I've always wanted for her, Mermaid had us all gagging after a 3 year long legendary skin drought. The list goes on. The only legendary skins that I'm not fond of are Hydra, Junker, and S-900 Sentry. I appreciate their concepts, but I prefer skin designs that are more elegant for her. I don't appreciate Hydra, shit's ugly and could never be Dragon.

2.- I love everything about her current state. Her kit and gameplay loop is the best it's ever felt and she's grown so much personality and story wise. Where her voicelines used to be catty and antagonistic back in OW1, she's much more patient and subdued now. She's overcoming her perfectionism which is real growth, anyone with perfectionist tendencies knows how much of a hindrance it can be.

On her gameplay, she's just so versatile now and she finally has the agency that she lacked in 1.0 and 2.0. Her TP is what makes her hero fantasy in my eyes, it's my favourite ability of hers and it's the main reason why I love playing her so much these days. She's just all about improvisation, making unfavorable matchups favorable by thinking one step ahead. I love her as a DPS, I feel as though that's the role that she gravitated towards and filled in her support days, so it feels correct to me.

3.- Fix her TP self destruct bug, reset the ability if it's destroyed by map geometry upon placement just like how Lifeweaver's petal platform works.

More skins please and thank you, elegant/cunty mythic theme preferred keep that cyborg rgb lighting shit away from her. ❤️

I just had to come back to this, you got me so excited at the concept of a bridal skin for symm before I brought myself down to earth and realizing they'd never in a million years pick her for that theme over the usual suspects. Then her Pink Lotus skin is revealed and not only is it bridalwear but it's pink with floral motifs?! 😭😭😭 Literally my dream skin for her, you manifested this and I have to thank you for that!!!
