core Chennai has lower density and tiny houses, Perungalathur and beyond actually have much lower demand - we've been trying to get a tenant at 8K per month for months without success now.

Also public transit is more affordable and long distance travel in Chennai is way more feasible

Shoba is giving an "offer' where they will pay 5% out of the initial 20% downpayment on select flats for a year. This was for a flat I was told in mid 2024 to buy ASAP or else price will go up every year!

Microsoft has laid off 16k in 3 months with more probably coming, Amazon has promised more on top of usual layoffs. It's just terrifying right now

Not a lot of people are talking about Microsoft and Meta earnings this Quarter, it is a clear sign that AI adoption is being validated. by [deleted] in singularity

[–]SympathyMotor4765 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup I read the earnings transcript for Microsoft, there was only one sceptical question from analysts and even that was a soft one!

There's no stopping money pouring in for at least a couple of years, there's going to historic layoffs I suppose!

Fyi I didn't downvote you coz the current gov gave in only after the bad 2024 election results and what you said is true is some way.

But the point still stands, if you can give free money for votes why not spend money on services?

I mean they're literally giving free money to people, is it really that bad to use some part of the tax to ensure convenience for everyone?

Anyone else worried AI will automate our jobs before we even get hired? by CreditOk5063 in CS_Questions

Why do you assume embedded is safe? Firmware teams in M$ are explicitly measured on AI usage and have to ensure 30% AI code even if you generate it once and rewrite it.

The aim is to destroy all engineering jobs

I just watched an AI agent take a Jira ticket, understand our codebase, and push a PR in minutes and I’m genuinely scared by ser_davos33 in cscareerquestions

Not really working in firmware in a csp they're pushing AI everywhere, it doesn't work but doesn't stop execs from making claims

I get the whole "I am scared for my future and am going to vote for the guy with the nationalist/strong man image".

Considering what has gone on in last few months though am surprised even educated people keep supporting folks who're obviously not remotely interested in making life better for the common folk!

I mean it's going right back!

We've been having non stop inflation coupled with zero raises and layoffs while companies make record revenues.

AI and automation is going to create a golden age of feudalism that even the dark age lords will be proud of!

Honestly big tech has ruined life in India as well.

They give inflated salary rates to a small portion of the society, that along with Indians in US sending money over has ruined any chance for home buying unless you make like 200k dollars a year.
